My Summary
Charlotte’s Colourful, Caring Childcare
About Me
I am a fun, confident, enthusiastic and trustworthy childcare professional with over 10 years of experience working with children. I love helping children learn, grow and develop through creativity, play and imagination, while always ensuring they feel safe, happy and supported.
I am happy to work with children of all ages and abilities, and I have over five years of experience supporting children with complex needs. I have worked with many families in part-time, full-time and ad-hoc childcare roles, and I am proud to say that all of my previous families highly recommend me.
For the past two years I have been working on the frontline in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, supporting both adult and paediatric patients. However, as I am expecting my third baby in August 2026, the role has become too physically demanding. I would therefore love to support families with childcare between now and my baby’s arrival.
I naturally build strong, positive relationships with children very quickly. I believe strongly in positive behaviour support and have completed specialised training in this area. I am approachable, calm and nurturing, and children tend to find my presence both enjoyable and comforting.
I am also a mother of two, and I feel that being a parent has strengthened my understanding of children’s emotional and developmental needs.
I love spending time outdoors and creating fun, engaging activities. This might include playing in the garden, visiting parks, farms and zoos, or doing creative activities and games that combine learning with fun.
From Thursday to Sunday I have my three-year-old son with me, so he would accompany me on those days. He is a friendly, sociable and loving child who absolutely adores babies and enjoys playing with older children.
My Experience
I have many years of experience working with babies and young children, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex health needs and learning disabilities. I am passionate about providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where children can develop and thrive.
I have worked with numerous families providing childcare for babies and young children, often taking sole charge of multiple children at the same time. I build strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents, and families have always found me to be reliable, caring and trustworthy.
I worked as a live-in nanny for one year, finishing in October 2015, where I cared for three girls: a baby, a three-year-old and a six-year-old. In addition to this role, I have regularly supported many families on a part-time and ongoing basis.
Alongside childcare, I am happy to assist with household tasks such as light housekeeping, school pick-ups and drop-offs, cooking, and pet care to help support busy family life.
I hold a full UK driving licence and have my own car. I have completed a range of training courses including First Aid at Work, Basic Life Support, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Positive Behaviour Support, Communication, Epilepsy and Buccal Medication, Sign Along, Autism-specific training, Medication Administration and Mental Capacity training. I also hold an enhanced DBS check and I am currently working towards my NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care.

Charlotte started being our nanny for my (at the time) 10 week old baby for 6months. Charlotte looked after my son like her own, I never once felt uneasy leaving him as I knew he was in the safest of hands. Charlotte would always take him out in the pushchair and as he got older, they would always visit the park, go to baby groups or meet up with other babies. Charlotte has always been very flexible if I was working late or had to go in last minute nothing was ever too much trouble for her. I now have a 6 week old daughter and Charlotte is back looking after her here and there. Charlottes daughter Darcie is the most gentle and loving little girl, her and my son play so nicely together and Darcie, if given the chance, would sit and cuddle my daughter all day - she’s besotted with her. Charlotte has become a good friend for my family and I would recommend her over and over again.

Charlotte has been looking after my 3 year old son and 2 year old daughter since October & I could not have asked for anyone better to have come into their lives. She has been very flexible, professional, kind and caring & my children absolutely adore her. Unfortunately due to me moving away 200 miles for the next year, we as a family have had to say goodbye however I recommend Charlotte very highly & it will be an absolute pleasure to reconnect when I return.I would hire Charlotte again in an instant.
Good luck for the future, you are a fantastic role model & I know Bradley and holly will miss you an awful lot.

Charlotte worked as our nanny last year for 10months. She very quickly made a great impression with us and our 3 girls aged 7,4 and 1 at the time. Charlotte is kind, caring, great fun and clearly loves her job. Our girls absolutely adored her and still talk about her. I have full confidence in her looking after our girls. She also helped with kids laundry, keeping their room tidy and cooking.
I have not hesitation in recommending her.
We were very sorry when she had to leave but that was just that we needed to reduce hours. We are still in touch and use Charlotte for babysitting.
