About Me

Hello my name is Nichola,
I am a mum to 4, my eldest being 30, 28, 25 and 24. I am also a very proud grandma to four grandsons ranging from 1 to 7 years old. My family is at the heart of everything I do, and it is this strong foundation that led me into fostering/childcare.

I have been a foster parent for 22 years and during that time I have cared for over 61 children, from newborn babies through to young adults aged 20+. Many of the children I have supported have had additional, complex and special needs, including emotional and behavioural needs. Throughout my years of fostering, I have gained extensive experience in all aspects of parenting — from potty training, sleepless nights and sleep regression, to supporting children through anxiety, attachment difficulties, trauma and developmental regression. There is very little that I have not encountered, and each experience has strengthened my skills and understanding.

I am committed to continuous professional development and complete over 20 hours of training every year to ensure my knowledge remains up to date with current practices, legislation and child development guidance.

I drive, which allows me to provide flexibility and consistency for appointments, contact arrangements and activities. I am passionate about my role and deeply committed to meeting each child’s individual needs with care, patience and understanding. I pride myself on offering a safe, nurturing and stable environment where children can feel secure and valued.

In addition, I have supported as a labour partner on numerous occasions, providing emotional and practical support during childbirth. This is something I feel honoured to have been trusted with and reflects the strong, supportive relationships I build.

Caring for children is not just my job — it is who I am. I am fully available, dedicated and passionate about helping children feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
