About Me
Hi my name is Melissa and I am an OFSTED registered childminder. I love to be busy with my children and I'm looking forward to sharing our fun. I can give your little ones a loving family environment in which to learn and develop new skills.
I am happily married and we have three beautiful children. I live in a 4 bedroom town house with a large open plan play area and well resourced garden. We enjoy family days out to the farm, the zoo, riding our bikes, flying kites on the Downs and exploring the National Trust.

My Experience
I have been a childminder for 11 years and before this I was a primary school teacher for 13 years. I have worked across the primary curriculum and specialised in Key Stage 1 and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I worked in America as an au pair for a family with three children in Chicago before going to university. And during my summer holidays at university I taught swimming at a New York summer camp for girls.

Words can’t really do Melissa justice, she’s fabulous in all ways. The care she offered my Son Finley was second to none. She loves her role in nurturing children, building their confidence and cares deeply. Finley was with Melissa from the day I went back to work till he started pre school and he still talks of her fondly. Finley flourished in Melissa’s setting and enjoyed all the adventures! Thank you!

Melissa has looked after our daughter since she was 11 months old, and she is now 4½ years old. From the very beginning, our daughter has loved going to Melissa’s house, and it has truly become like one big extended family.
Over the years, she has made wonderful progress across all areas of her development. She comes home every day smiling, excited to tell us about her adventures and the fun she has had, whether that’s trips to the zoo, the farm, local National Trust properties, or the splash park.
For the past year, Melissa has also managed our daughter’s school pick-ups and drop-offs, and every transition has been completely seamless.
As a family, we absolutely adore Melissa. She provides a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can truly thrive. We have complete confidence that our daughter is cared for, supported, and encouraged every day, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything Melissa has done for our family.

Melissa has been looking after my little girl since September 2021. The biggest compliment I could possibly give is that when my daughter is in Melissa's care I never ever worry about her. I know how much Melissa cares about her and how safe she is under her care. She very regularly takes her on trips to the zoo, to play groups and does many wonderful activities with her.
My daughter is always happy to go to Melissa's and always leaves her care bright and happy with a big smile on her face and adventures had. I get regular updates from Melissa including pictures and daily communication in her diary.
My husband and I are entirely grateful to have found somebody as wonderful as Melissa to look after our little girl.

Melissa has been looking after my little boy since he was 10 months old, he is now 17 months. He goes 2 days a week and is really enjoying his time there and I can see his social confidence growing every week. Melissa is really open and communicative which is such a help and the setting she provides is ideal and exactly what I was looking for. She is also clearly very knowledgeable and often explains what she has been working on with him that week so I can keep the work up. I'd very happily recommend Melissa to anyone looking for a childminder.

Our son has been with Melissa since August 2021. Since he started, his confidence has grown. We have seen vast improvement in his fine and gross motor skills. This is down to the activities and social interactions that Melissa sets up for our son. Being with Melissa is like a home away from home and she makes us feel that our son is safe and cared for. We are so thankful that we found such a caring, loving childminder.

Our daughter has been attending Melissa's setting since she was 10 months old. I can say without hesitation, that our daughter has developed brilliantly and at a considerable rate due to Melissa's background and all the efforts she makes. Melissa’s knowledge and skills enable her to adapt and deal with any given situation and she is full of encouragement. She is able to support us in setting goals for our daughter and ensures she contributes to situations effectively. We regard Melissa as an extension to our family, she has made a huge impact to our daily lives.

Melissa has been looking after our son since he was 10 months, he is now 17 months.
Our son is so very happy with Melissa and clearly feels like part of the family in her home.
Every morning he walks in, waves goodbye and then he closes the front door! A sign of a very happy and settled boy! Which is really impressive and reassuring after having spent many of his early months in lock down due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
We never worry when he is with Melissa and we know he will have a great day, always doing a variety of activities.
He truly is thriving under Melissa’s care. Thank you Melissa!

Melissa looked after my little boy from when he turned 14 months, right up until he turned 4. The care and support she gave him during this time was what you would expect from a family member. My boy would often run into her house each morning, as he felt so happy and comfortable there. He would always be involved in brilliant activities, and he is often asking to go back and see the whole family. I felt totally confident each time I left him that he was in the best hands. I cannot recommend Melissa enough, we are very sad that our time with her is now over.

Melissa is an amazing childminder! She offers a homely environment offering a fabulous range of toys and activities. My son was unhappy in his previous childcare but since going to Melissa he has been so happy and really loves the time he spends with Melissa, so I have been reassured that I made the right decision. She is kind, caring and loving. I really feel that my son is made to feel part of the family. Melissa is excellent at communicating on day to day happenings and progress; both verbally and through a home communication book. I am really happy that we chose Melissa and can recommend her highly!

Melissa is an outstanding minder. She is calm, patient, empathic and organised with three beautiful children of her own who are polite and affectionate with my girls- a credit to her. Coupled with Melissa's past being in primary teaching, she is really over qualified to look after small children and as a result, I have never felt fearful of leaving my girls with her. I feel that Melissa has gone out of her way to accommodate us and make my girls feel like one of her family. I recommend her whole heartedly to anyone looking for a childminder or school pickup/ drop off.
