About Me
Personal Profile
My name is Alex Ivey. Growing up as the second of four siblings taught me the importance of responsibility, patience, teamwork, and supporting others from an early age. These values have shaped both my personal and professional approach to caring for children.
I am a dedicated childcare professional with extensive experience supporting the personal, social, emotional, and educational development of children in a variety of settings. I am passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
I have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection responsibilities and am committed to promoting the welfare and wellbeing of every child in my care. I pride myself on building positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues, recognising that effective communication and teamwork are essential in providing the highest standard of care and education.
I am a reliable, compassionate, and adaptable individual who remains calm under pressure and thrives in busy environments. I enjoy taking initiative, solving problems, and continuously developing my knowledge and skills through learning and professional development.
Having recently completed my Law with Business degree, I have further strengthened my communication, analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, which complement my childcare experience. I am now seeking an opportunity where I can combine my passion for supporting children with my professional experience while continuing to grow and make a positive difference within a dedicated childcare or educational team.
My Experience
Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.
My name is Alex, and I am a dedicated, reliable, and experienced childcare professional with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. I have experience working with children of all ages, from babies through to teenagers, in a variety of settings, including private day nurseries, primary schools, after-school clubs, and within family homes as a nanny and babysitter.
In addition to my childcare experience, I have volunteered in primary schools and elderly care settings, where I developed strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills while supporting individuals with their daily needs.
I have previously worked as a nanny for a lovely family in Walthamstow, caring for their two children under the age of five. During this role, I planned engaging activities, supported daily routines, prepared meals, and created a safe, nurturing environment where the children could learn and thrive.
I am currently working as a Deputy Manager of an After School Club, where I help lead a team in providing a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for children. My role involves supporting children’s social and emotional development, planning activities, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, and building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Alongside my childcare career, I have recently completed a Law with Business degree, which has strengthened my communication, organisation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
I am available for babysitting during evenings and weekends, and I am happy to discuss additional availability where possible. I pride myself on being patient, caring, trustworthy, and approachable, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their children are safe, happy, and well cared for.
I look forward to meeting you and your family and hope to have the opportunity to provide a caring, fun, and supportive environment for your children.
My Qualifications
I hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare, along with additional childcare qualifications. I am also qualified in Paediatric First Aid and have completed Food Hygiene and Safety training.
In addition, I have recently completed a Law with Business degree, which has strengthened my communication, organisation, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. My studies have enhanced my understanding of professionalism, ethics, and working within policies and procedures, all of which complement my childcare experience.
I have a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and am experienced in supporting children with a wide range of individual needs. I am passionate about providing inclusive, nurturing care and adapting my approach to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and able to reach their full potential.
