My Summary
About Me
I am a 29-year-old multilingual woman (English, Italian, Swedish, Mandarin) based in Chiswick (West London) who works as an Actor, Academic Writer, Medical-Legal-Social Work Interpreter, Tutor and Digital Creator. I am multi-hyphenate and the common denominators across my work are: creativity, academia, languages, body-centred learning, health, very high energy and connecting with other people.
With 15+ years' experience as a babysitter (incl au pair) and as a tutor, I am currently looking for full-time or ad hoc work as a tutor and/or babysitter, through a health-, skills- and real life activity-based approach. My goal, in essence, is to add enormous value to your child's life, whether that is by teaching them one of my languages, how to cook (I cook very well), taking them to a museum or helping them with homework. I am also very health-centred, very active and love spending time outdoors, all things which I can also bring to your child.
My care for adding value to a child's life is something I have nurtured since a very young age: for example at 20 years old, when I au-paired and took care of 7-year old twins in China, I did so many things with them: I taught them English and English rhymes, I took them to the Shanghai Natural Science Museum, to the cinema, we cooked Italian dishes together, and they taught me more Mandarin of course haha! I genuinely love children so much and love working with them both to help them and their families.
As an Academic Writer and Digital Creator, Feminism, Women's and Children's Health are reoccurring topics that I cover; I am particularly interested in the topic of the body: for example, weight, movement, food and how to help children develop a healthy relationship with their body through language. One of my long-term projects - which I am already working on - is to turn my digital work into public speaking, so I can connect with people and families in the offline world.
In addition to having an Enhanced DBS and being First-Aid Trained, I know a lot about children's health also through my Interpreting: for example, I often work at hospitals or clinics where children are being treated, I have to talk with them, translate for them and apply my safeguarding background. I am also very studious for my Interpreting, I research and learn about conditions, children psychology, terminology in advance, so that I can support the children and families as best as I can, as I translate.
As a very academic person myself, I love tutoring children, either in my languages if they want to learn them or various academic subjects such as Biology, Maths, Creative Writing, Cookery, etc. I have studied across a wealth of subjects since being a child myself: in Italy, for example, I studied Latin and Ancient Greek; in Sweden, I did the International Baccalaureate Diploma (so I understand the IB and A-level systems very well), and I have two degrees, one in Chinese and English Literature and one in Acting.
In November 2025, I published an Italian translation of a book for children of 4-10 years of age: 'Sandy Shores - Rive Sabbiose: A Bilingual Beach Adventure!' - available online in stores such as Waterstones (UK), Amazon (UK), Barnes & Noble (U.S.A.) and Akademikbohandeln (Sweden). I am currently writing a Swedish translation of the same book.
My Experience
PRACTICAL - Babysitting
Health: pro-health games, outdoor play, Montessori-style activities, movement, health-promoting language (for eg. instead of "good food vs bad food" -> "food your body needs every day vs fun foods" or "we need to take care of our body with kindness"), preparing wholesome and healthy meals and snacks and leading by example.
Real life skills approach: languages, cooking, strategy-based games like puzzles, reading, writing, building, arts and crafts, children's exercises.
Real life activity approach: going to a museum, the aquarium, the cinema, to see a children's show or an exhibition, go to a park, to eat out.
Screens: my priority is always to follow parents' preferences. Personally, I think low-stimulation, calming TV programs are okay occasionally, but I am not a fan of screens in general nor of over-stimulating programs that leave the child with a 'low' once they stop watching it.
