Hi! My names Kate and I’ve recently just finished my masters in international journalism and have moved back home to Devon. I have always had such a passion in childcare and teaching, acquiring my TEFL (teaching English) from a young age, and teaching poetry to secondary school pupils as part of my undergrad module in creative writing.
I love creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children feel confident and inspired—whether that's through storytelling, creative play, or educational activities.
In my own time, I enjoy crafting, writing, and creating fun, imaginative games, activities I often incorporate into my childcare approach to keep things both enriching and entertaining. I’m responsible, caring, and always aim to make every child feel safe, heard, and happy.

My Experience
I’ve built up a wide range of childcare and teaching experience over the years. I’ve babysat for families all around my village, as well as regularly caring for younger family members. I hold a TEFL qualification and have taught English abroad in Nepal, which was an incredibly rewarding experience.
As part of my creative background, I’ve also taught poetry workshops to secondary school pupils and led art sessions for a group of children with special educational needs, something I found especially meaningful. These experiences have helped me develop a patient, creative, and adaptable approach to working with children of all ages and abilities.

My standard rate for babysitting and general childcare is £13 per hour, reflecting my experience, qualifications, and commitment to providing safe, engaging care.
For more specialised support—such as tutoring, homework help, or creative learning sessions (including English, poetry, or art)—my rate is £16-£18 per hour, depending on the type of session and level of preparation involved.
I’m happy to discuss day rates for longer bookings and offer discounted rates for regular weekly arrangements. Weekend, evening, or short-notice care may include a small additional charge.
