My Summary

My Experience

I have 8 years of experience working in childcare and education, supporting children across nursery, mainstream school and Alternative Provision settings.

I began my career in a nursery, where I gained 2 years of experience and completed my Level 2 qualification in Childcare. I then spent 3 years working in a mainstream school, followed by 3 years working in Alternative Provision, where I currently work.

In my current role, I support children with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, trauma and SEMH needs. I have experience developing and delivering tailored interventions based on individual children’s needs, abilities and targets, as well as adapting learning and providing individualised support to help children overcome barriers to education.

I have experience contributing to and attending EHCP meetings, working with parents, school staff and other professionals to discuss children’s progress, needs and provision. I also support with EHCP paperwork, reviewing targets and monitoring children’s progress.

My experience includes supporting behaviour and emotional needs, building positive relationships, adapting learning, promoting independence and helping children develop confidence and engagement with education. I am confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicating effectively with parents, carers and professionals.

* ABA Diploma, developing my understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis and positive, individualised approaches to supporting behaviour and learning.
* Paediatric First Aid – Training Express (2022), providing essential knowledge and practical skills for responding to medical emergencies involving children.
* NPQ for SENCOs – currently completing, further developing my knowledge of SEND leadership, inclusive practice, EHCPs, provision and supporting children with additional needs.

Together, these qualifications have given me a broad understanding of child development, education, SEND, behaviour, safeguarding, inclusion and individualised support. I continue to develop my professional knowledge through ongoing training and practical experience within education and Alternative Provision.
