About Me
Hi I’m Emma,mum of two. I have a 16 year old and a 13 year old. I frequently look after my nephews (ages:6 & 1).
I have a lot of first hand experience with babies from having my own,to looking after family’s babies/children,friends children and babies in nursery settings. I am currently a learning support assistant in a primary school. I have worked with all age groups from nursery - yr 6. My last class was year 6 and from September I will be supporting year 2. I am also a lead speech and language support assistant for my school. I work alongside Islington’s speech and language therapists to deliver targeted sessions to each individual child’s needs and targets set.
I am a very fun,caring,reliable and enthusiastic role model.
I have worked with Children and babies for over 18 years in a variety of settings; nursery,schools,play schemes and play centres.
I have a kind heart and understand the love and care babies and children need and thrive from to grow and develop into happy,confident and independent individuals. I believe in giving children the opportunities to play and learn in a safe,stimulating and motivating environment . I am very fair but firm and know how children learn from boundaries and rules set.
If babysitting is needed for half terms I will Provide age,stage,need and developmental appropriate learning and play activities at home as-well as Using local parks and facilities (soft play,farm,zoo,swimming ) to keep the kids active. I love Hampstead Heath,Primrose hill, Regents lark and Highbury fields and other local parks and spend a lot of time there (weather permitted) with my children letting them experience the great outdoors and enjoy messy play.
I have a high expertise and knowledge in working with children they may have additional needs including; autism,adhd,global delay,speech and language delay,dyslexia and additional learning needs. I have been a 1:1 for many children over the years with Autism, so have a very good understanding of the spectrum.
I have full understanding of the EYFS and have received full training on phonics and the national curriculum standards across all year groups.
I work alongside teachers,Senco and outside agencies to support teaching and learning.

My Experience
I have over 18 years experience in working with children.
I have had working and voluntary roles throughout the years.
These include: a teaching assistant, play worker,nursery educator,meal time supervisor and an SEN 1:1 learning support assistant.
I have Makaton experience as-well as ASD training.
I have worked with babies to 16 year olds.
I have a great knowledge of the key stage 1 curriculum including phonics (jolly phonics and read write inc and little wandle)
My last job role was a 1:1 SEN learning support assistant in an ofsted rated outstanding school. I have experience in running a play scheme and managing the set up of the provision. Providing a safe,stimulating and motivating environment ensuring it is inclusive to all.
I am currently a year 2 learning support assistant, prior to this I was a TA in year 6.
