My Experience
Hello, I’m Yasmin
I’m passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. I specialise in supporting nursery and primary-aged children with Maths and English, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those who may need additional support with their learning.
I have worked in education since 2018, gaining experience in both state and independent schools and supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds. A large part of my experience has involved working one-to-one with children, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop new skills, and celebrate their progress.
My approach to teaching
I believe every child learns differently, so I take a personalised, child-centred approach to tutoring. Before beginning sessions, I like to get to know the child and their family, understand their strengths and interests, and identify any areas where they may benefit from additional support. This helps me tailor activities and lessons to suit their individual needs and learning style.
My teaching is engaging, practical, and fun. I enjoy using active learning, hands-on activities, games, real-life experiences, and a variety of resources to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I want children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying new things while developing confidence in their abilities.
I have extensive experience supporting children with SEN and have completed specialist training covering a range of additional needs, including speech and language development and occupational therapy approaches. This allows me to adapt my communication, activities, and teaching strategies to help each child access learning in a way that works for them.

My goal
