About Me
Hello, my name is Akshana. I am a trainee CBT therapist, that is looking to nanny part time and full time in the holidays. Through my academic background in psychology (BSc Psychology and MSc Psychological Therapies with Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Low Intensity CBT Therapist)O), I have learnt about children's developmental needs, teaching me how to navigate child behaviour. Additionally, I personally love interacting with children and it's an environment I thrive in most. I am open to also doing housework, picking up children from school, cooking etc. I do not nanny for children under 4 years of age. I am Enhanced DBS checked and can provide my certificate if needed.
My Experience
I have nannied for a family of two during the June-October of 2024 and 2025. I helped with school work, making meals, light household chores (tidying, laundry), supervising, organising and doing fun arts/crafts activities etc.
Additionally, as a Teaching Assistant Volunteer at Manor Junior School, I aided in the classroom, helped children individually with reading &grammar and helped lead a school trips. Also, I worked as a Psychotherapy intern at BANG Edutainment, a charity that focuses on helping young children succeed, where I facilitated two youth clubs and went into schools to deliver several creative therapy projects like dance, gardening and art. This further taught me how to interact with children and be a leader.
