Hello! I’m Idong, a caring, patient and reliable childcare professional with over 10 years of experience working with children, including children with autism, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and other additional needs.
I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and have experience in childcare, special education, learning support and positive behaviour support. I am passionate about helping children feel safe, happy, included and confident while providing parents with peace of mind.I can support your family with a wide range of childcare needs, including play and learning activities, meal preparation, homework, bath time, bedtime routines, school-readiness activities, arts and crafts, sensory play, reading and outdoor activities.
I have particular experience supporting children who benefit from additional patience, structured routines, communication support and positive behaviour strategies. I understand that every child is unique, and I adapt my approach to suit each child's individual needs, personality and developmental stage. I believe that good childcare is built on trust, kindness, patience and open communication. My Experience
I have over 10 years of experience working with children and young people across childcare, special education, autism support and behaviour therapy. My experience includes working with children from early years through to school age, including children with autism, learning disabilities, communication difficulties and other additional needs.
I hold a Master's degree in Special Education and have specialist experience in Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). I have worked in special education settings, nurseries, specialist centres and as an ABA/Behaviour Therapist, supporting children with their learning, communication, social skills and emotional and behavioural development.
I have experience supporting children who are non-verbal or have limited communication, using appropriate strategies such as visual supports, prompting, structured routines, positive reinforcement and play-based learning. I understand that every child is different and take time to learn each child's personality, interests, routines and individual needs.
