Hi, I’m Tenaya, I’m 22 years old and a qualified Registered Paediatric Nurse. I’m a caring, friendly and reliable person who genuinely loves working with children and helping families.
Through my nursing career, I have gained professional experience caring for babies, children and young people of different ages and with a wide range of needs. My nursing background has given me a strong understanding of children’s health, safety and wellbeing, as well as the importance of providing care that is patient, gentle and tailored to each individual child.
Outside of my professional experience, I have always been involved in caring for my younger siblings and family members, so looking after children is something I have naturally enjoyed for many years. I love getting to know children, playing with them, keeping them entertained and helping them feel comfortable and settled.
I’m confident helping with mealtimes, bedtime routines, bathing, changing, playing, homework and general childcare, and I’m also happy to follow a child’s usual routine to make things as easy and familiar as possible for them.
As a paediatric nurse, I’m particularly conscious of creating a safe, calm and nurturing environment for children. I understand that leaving your child with someone new can feel daunting, so I always aim to give parents reassurance and keep them updated when needed.
I’m based in Mitcham and I drive, so I’m happy to travel locally and can potentially help with school/nursery drop-offs and pick-ups as well as babysitting.
I’m approachable, trustworthy and patient, and I would love the opportunity to meet your family and provide your little ones with safe, caring and enjoyable childcare.
My Experience
I have a wide range of experience caring for children both professionally and personally. I’m a qualified Registered Paediatric Nurse, where I have gained hands-on experience caring for babies, children and young people of different ages and with different needs.
As part of my previous experience, I also completed work experience in a nursery, where I had the opportunity to spend time with young children in a nursery environment. This gave me experience supporting children with their daily routines, playing with them, keeping them engaged in activities and helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment.
Outside of my professional experience, I have also regularly cared for my younger siblings and family members, which has given me plenty of experience looking after children in a home environment.
I really enjoy being around children and getting to know their individual personalities and routines. I’m confident caring for babies and children of different ages and I’m happy to help with things such as playtime, meals, bedtime routines, homework and general childcare.
I feel that my combination of paediatric nursing, nursery work experience and caring for children within my family has given me a good understanding of how to provide safe, caring and enjoyable childcare.
My Qualifications
I have a strong educational background in health, social care and childcare, alongside my professional qualification as a Registered Paediatric Nurse.
* GCSEs: English, Mathematics, Combined Science, Business, Childcare and Hair & Beauty, achieving grades 4–7.
* A Levels: Double Health & Social Care (A), and Business (B).
* University: BSc (Hons) Children’s Nursing – 2:2, which qualified me as a Registered Paediatric Nurse.
My education and nursing training have given me a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, communication and providing safe, child-centred care.
