About Me

Hello! My name is Rosie and I am a qualified Social Worker with over 10 years’ experience working with children, young people and their families including roles in family support, safeguarding, fostering, nursery settings, swimming teaching, and private babysitting.

Alongside my social work background, I now work as a SEN/SEMH tutor and mentor, supporting children from EYFS through to GCSE and Functional Skills level. I am passionate about child-centred practice and building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people, meeting them where they are and tailoring support to their individual needs, interests and learning styles.

I have extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of additional needs including autism (ASD), ADHD, PDA, dyslexia, global developmental delay, anxiety, depression and emotional regulation difficulties. I also have experience supporting young people with complex safeguarding backgrounds and those who are disengaged from education.

I offer flexible support depending on need, including:

* Academic tutoring (EYFS–GCSE & Functional Skills English and Maths)
* SEN/SEMH focused learning support
* Emotional regulation and mentoring support
* Homework help and confidence building
* Structured routines, boundaries and positive engagement through play and learning

My approach is calm, consistent and relationship-based, with a strong focus on making learning accessible, engaging and confidence-building for every child.

My Experience

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Social Work and have over 10 years of experience working with children, young people and families across a wide range of settings, including nursery environments, babysitting, swimming instruction, family support services, child protection, safeguarding and fostering services.

I have worked extensively with children and young people with additional and complex needs, including autism, ADHD, PDA profiles, dyslexia, and learning disabilities such as Down syndrome. I am experienced in adapting communication, learning approaches and emotional support strategies to ensure each child is fully included and able to access learning in a way that works for them.

Alongside my safeguarding and social work background, I currently work as a SEN/SEMH tutor and mentor, supporting children and young people who may be out of education or struggling to engage in school. This includes delivering tailored learning in English, Maths and Functional Skills, from early years development through to GCSE level, alongside emotional support and confidence-building work.

I also have experience supporting children and young people with highly complex emotional and physical health needs, including those affected by anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, and life-limiting or terminal illness within family support contexts.

My practice is always child-centred, trauma-informed and focused on building trusting relationships that enable children to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.
