I love being a part of a child’s life, even if just for a brief moment, and giving them something to look forward to each time they see me. I also take great joy in knowing that I might be easing the weight on a parent’s shoulders—offering them some peace of mind that their child is being cared for, so they can prioritise themselves for a moment and enjoy some time child-free.
Although I don’t have children myself, I’m close to people who do, and I’ve seen firsthand how much responsibility it takes to keep a child safe, happy, and entertained while also managing your own life and wellbeing. That’s why being able to make even the smallest difference in a parent’s day—by giving them a moment to breathe, reset, and prioritise themselves—feels like a true blessing.
In the long run, supporting a parent in this way not only benefits them, but I feel as though it would also strengthen the parent-child relationship. When a parent has had time to rest and recharge, they’re better able to show up for their child with renewed energy and presence.
My Experience
Hello, my name is Darcey! I currently don’t have formal babysitting experience yet. However, I have a genuine love for spending time with children and helping them feel safe, happy, and engaged. I’ve looked after younger family members and friends’ siblings on multiple occasions aswell as taking care of children at my dance classes and shows (doing their hair for performances, helping them get changed, calming their nerves and keeping them entertained) and those experiences have taught me how important it is to be patient, responsible, and fun at the same time.
In my free time, I enjoy creative activities like reading, photography,writing and colouring —which I’d love to bring into my babysitting to keep children entertained and learning. I also enjoy being outdoors and think its important to keep a healthy balance between keeping childrens minds stimulated but not overwhelmed.
My approach to looking after children is gentle, kind, and attentive. I aim to create a calm and joyful environment where kids feel heard and cared for. I’m always open to learning and following any specific routines or rules you have in place, to make sure your child feels secure and supported aswell as giving you as the parent/carer peace of mind whilst your child is in my care.

My Qualifications
I have no official qualifications as of yet.
