Babysitter Job In Morpeth
About Me
In our family home is myself and my husband Matthew, our 2 boys, Jenson 3 and Tobyn 1. We also have 2 indoor cats, 2 geckos, an African land snail and a few fish.
We moved to Morpeth from Northamptonshire in 2023 to be closer to my husband's family. I'm originally from Cambridgeshire where my family are still based. This is part of the reason we find ourselves looking for occasional help with the children as we don't have loads of family in the area to lean on for the odd night off.
My Requirements
We are looking for someone who can do occasional babysitting to enable my husband and I to have the odd evening out together or attend events. We have previously relied on family for the very few times we've needed childcare, however illness means this is not as possible now. Tobyn our youngest son is much better at sleeping and going to bed now so we feel a bit more ready to find someone who can build up a relationship with both the boys over time and be a long term babysitter. We've never gone out loads so it won't be like every week, however we would very much like the opportunity to have a bit more time as a couple and build this up a bit more with the confidence of a stable sitter that the kids love.
We're mostly looking for mid-late afternoons I to evenings, so having a babysitter who can put the kids to bed too would be ideal, they go to bed really well.

Lexi babysat my kids on several occasions and every time my eldest would talk about her non stop the next day and absolutely loved spending his time with her. She really went out of her way to figure out what the kids enjoyed and took the time to focus on them and make it feel like mummy and daddy going out was exciting time because they got time to play with Lexi.
I was very uncertain and nervous about leaving them with a baby sitter for the first time and Lexi was perfect in reassuring me and keeping in touch with photo's and updates on things they were doing which helped me to know that they were both settled happy and carrying on with their usual routines which really helped me to relax and enjoy my time too.
Couldn't have asked for a better person to introduce it my kids!!

Ellie has been great at every stage. Most importantly the kids loved her and had a great time and we'll absolutely be asking her back.
Ellie took the time to ask details about what the kids liked and didn't like as well as the important things like allergies medical requirements etc.
She visited us to get to know the family before the first actual baby sitting booking, and was still happy to be flexible given that my youngest son slept through that entire session 🤦
I first went to Ellie in a bit of panic as a pre booked sitter hadn't turned and she was really helpful in trying to find a way she could support what we were looking for at literally a few hours notice. We didn't end up needing her service that time but booked in a future session.
Ellie made sure the kids were fed and they were both soundly asleep by the time we got home. They haven't stopped taking about her and asking when she'll be back.
She's a reliable, trustworthy and thoughtful person to be comfortable with giving her the privilege/burden (delete as appropriate from hour to hour) of caring for your children.

Lisa was brilliant when communicating and arranging. She seemed really keen and understanding when she came to our home and met us all as a family, got on really well with the kids and was great asking details about anything they particularly like etc.
Then on the day of first actual job where we were due to go out and leave Lisa with the children she didn't show up with zero communication and nothing since.
