About Me
I love working with little people, especially pre school and nursery age. They are so interested in everything and impressed by the natural world around them. I like to take time to get to know each child, their interests, their strengths and build on these, introducing challenges in a step by step way which feel manageable and through which they can feel proud and spurred on by their own progress. I believe in being positive and using positive reinforcement to make expectations clear so that each child understands boundaries and knows what to expect ahead of new experiences. I am warm, kind and thoughtful, with a good eye for detail so that your child gets the most out of activities and you get to hear all about what they got up to in an informed, clear way.
My Experience
I have taught in various primary schools and nursery settings in London for ten years until I had my own child and chose to be at home to raise him. When our eldest was little I became a registered childminder for pre school aged children and on inspection my service was rated outstanding by ofsted. I have tutored young learners online including two sisters for one year during COVID. I have supported children with complex special needs in school settings and continue to offer private tuition online. I am very tuned in to children's needs and naturally calm, patient and organised. I am committed to working closely with you to provide the best care for your child.
My Qualifications
I have a BEd teaching degree and 12 years of in school experience as well as experience in home settings.
My Availability
I currently am available during the day on weekdays. I am in the process of re-registering to become an Ofsted registered childminder and I am hoping to be ready by spring 2026.
