About Me

I am a flexible and organised professional with the ability to take responsibility, manage tasks effectively and deliver work to a high standard in a child care environment. I am confident working independently and have a strong passion for achieving both personal and professional success. I am always keen to develop my skills, embrace new challenges and build upon my wealth of experience. A key strength is my emotional intelligence and ability to understand situations from different perspectives. I can recognise the bigger picture, adapt to different environments and demonstrate an understanding of the needs and experiences of others. This allows me to build relationships, offer support and respond effectively to the people and situations around me.

I am seeking a new challenge that will provide me with job satisfaction. Whatever task or responsibility I undertake, I approach it with commitment and determination, as I believe this mindset is key to achieving success. I have graduated from university with a 2:1 Honours degree through an accelerated programme, specialising in Sport, Education and Health. This demonstrates my ability to manage competing demands and commitment to achieving my goals. I also bring a versatile approach to learning, with the ability to engage through visual, auditory, reading and writing, and kinaesthetic methods. However, I believe my degree and academic achievements are just one part of what I can offer. My wider experiences, adaptability, and willingness to learn are equally valuable.

As well, I strongly believe in child-centred care, where children receive a holistic education that supports their individual development while also benefiting wider society. However, the current rigid education system does not adequately implement or consider this approach within its existing framework. This is particularly evident in teaching and assessment methods, where only a small number of children are able to demonstrate their true potential, while others are left struggling to navigate the barriers they face. This resonates with me on a personal level because of my own experiences in education as someone with dyslexia. The traditional approach to learning did not always support my needs or allow me to reach my full potential. As a result, I understand the importance of taking an interest in each child's individual needs and offering alternative approaches to learning. Every child should have the opportunity to recognise their abilities, build confidence and experience success, rather than feeling limited or dissatisfied by a system that does not accommodate different ways of learning.

Lastly, I am a very outgoing and sporty person who enjoys going on long walks in nature and participating in a variety of sports, such as football, badminton, rugby and running. I believe that sport and physical activity are essential for children's development and learning, as they provide a positive outlet for their energy while helping them develop focus, discipline and confidence. This is an aspect of learning and play that I would strongly encourage and use to engage with children, as I believe it is important for them to experience a balance of both structured and unstructured activities in different forms. In addition, I am a strong advocate for history and philosophy, as these subjects encourage children to explore the bigger picture, question the world around them and develop a deeper understanding of life. I believe this is important in helping children grow mentally, broaden their awareness and appreciate the opportunities and privileges they may have compared to others, particularly those who are fortunate enough to have most of their needs fulfilled.
