About Me
I am a mother of 2 grown up children looking to help you navigate through a work life balance with your children. I am invigilating at my 2 local secondary schools as well as playing host family and host parents with 2 local home stay companies.
Due to all of these roles being fixed dates I know when I can take on short term periods to commit to your families needs.
My ways of engaging are learning through play. I love exploring the outdoors in whatever weather and feel wellies and a good coat are essential. Collecting leaves and cones are a wonderful way to explore plants, dry them out and then make a picture. Baking cupcakes is another good sensory process for children to explore and of course you've got to have sprinkles. Reading to as well as encouraging listening to reading is such an important engaging part to children's learning and engage with their understanding through questions. I love craft activities to allow the child to express their creativity.
I love to see the progress of learning but recognise the importance to cater for individual children's needs but all children deserve a chance to explore what they are good at but if they never have the opportunity they don't know.
My Experience
Mother to a 23 and 21 year old.
My husband and I are a host family for Japenese Students through the Cotswold Wind Academy whereby we have 2 students which we look after 1-2 weeks at a time. These are set times during the year. I have had 11 students throughout this year.
We are also host parents through Pippa's Guardians to a student who is attending a boarding school so she comes to us set times of the year for the weekend.
I invigilate in small rooms to cater for SEND children who receive extra time and access arrangements to suit their needs.
My Qualifications
Teaching Assistant NVQ
Previous qualifications in professions I am no longer working in are banking and accountancy qualifications.
My Availability
I am available for part time work Mon to Fri and to work anything between 1 and 3 days.
I can also be available for occasional evenings and Saturdays.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
