My Summary
About Me
I was drawn to apply for a role working with children and young adults because I genuinely enjoy being able to support and positively influence young people during important stages of their development. I’ve always felt that the right guidance, encouragement, and patience can make a real difference in a young person’s confidence and outlook.
What motivates me most is the sense of reward that comes from knowing you’ve helped someone, even in a small way. Whether it’s helping a young person understand something they were struggling with, encouraging them to believe in themselves, or simply being someone they feel comfortable talking to, those moments are incredibly meaningful to me. Seeing a child smile, gain confidence, or feel proud of themselves after overcoming a challenge is something I find very fulfilling.
I’m passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment where children and young people feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. Being able to contribute to their well-being and development, and knowing that my support might make their day a little easier or brighter, is what truly motivates me to pursue this type of role.
My Experience
While I may not have extensive professional experience specifically working with children, I bring a strong background of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism from my previous employment. I worked for the Civil Service for seven years as a Compliance Executive Officer, where I was required to follow strict procedures and protocols and handle highly confidential and sensitive information. This role required integrity, trustworthiness, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and responsible in all situations.
Alongside my professional experience, I have regularly helped care for children within my extended family, including babysitting my cousins’ children on many occasions. Through this, I’ve developed a natural ability to connect with children in a patient, caring, and supportive way. I enjoy spending time with them, encouraging creative play, helping them learn new things, and using my initiative to keep them engaged in positive and fun activities.
People often describe me as someone who is dependable, approachable, and kind. I understand the importance of being someone that both children and parents can feel safe and comfortable around. Whether it’s making sure children feel supported, listened to, or simply helping them enjoy their time through play and encouragement, I take that responsibility seriously and genuinely enjoy it. I have a valid DBS check and i can consent to any further checks if required to reassure any clients/parents etc.
My Qualifications
I am a undergraduate in childhood studies and education which i have currently put on hold, due to some personal circumstances. My highest level of qualification is AS levels in which i passed health and social care. Prior to that i have 10 GCSE passes including english and maths and science.
