Emily
Nanny in Nottingham (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Friendly, caring and compassionate, I'm an experienced diagnostic radiographer where I'm changing my career to become a full-time nanny to look after young children as I adore babies, toddlers, and young ones to want to care for them regularly and make a meaningful impact in their upbringing and development. I'm very much a people-person, where I enjoy interacting with people of all ages and enjoying life alongside others. I'm a big foodie, an aspiring traveller, an avid anime and animation fan, an active singer and dancer at home,
and I've been told I'm very approachable, lovely to speak to and just a really nice person.
My transgression from being a radiographer to a nanny is a personal choice and it wasn't a difficult decision to make once I set my mind on it. I've always loved children and x-raying paediatrics was often the highlight of my day, where I'd fight over my colleagues to be the one to care for them. I have a great maternal instinct and a big heart, where I want to care and look after children to prevent them from being x-rayed! In reality, I wanted more out of life than working long, busy, and stressful hours in the hospital and I wanted to change that for long, busy and stressful hours with children instead.
I'm currently in the process of registering on the voluntary register with OFSTED, but in the meantime I'm ensuring that I have the relevant qualifications to work alongside families before the full registration has gone through. My aim is to be as transparent with families regarding my experience so that parents can understand who I am and what I can provide, with face-to-face interviews essential to understand each other.
I'm currently located in Hull from the past 4 years and will be moving back to my hometown Nottingham from the end of August 2026 to pursue this career, where I hope to make young children smile and learn from me as their nanny.
My Experience
During COVID, I looked after my baby niece Esme when she was only months old and helped her growth and development, alongside many of my family members' young children on babysitting duties. I'd often take them out on nature walks, letting them explore the scenery around them, and interact with people and animals that we came across.
My experience working in the hospital has gained me valuable insight into caring for young children from babies to teenagers, where I have to instantly form a bond with them in the first couple of minutes. If I can x-ray a crying toddler, I think I can do anything.
Despite my lack of job experience in childcare, I'm fully confident that I can provide a great service to the families who put their trust in me to care for their little ones. My aspirations include nurturing them to become independent, intelligent, respectful, and caring young people by taking them outside on 'adventures' and allowing them to explore the world with me accompanying them. Basic manners are expected and I don't shy away from being stern when necessary. As parents, I understand you have your own ideas on how you'd like your children to be raised and I aim to work alongside your ideas and incorporate my own to nurture your children to be great little people.
Some of my ideas include: strolls and picnics in the park, myself and your children playing with other young children in the park (imaginative play), talking/babbling to elderly people, reading in the library, bird watching/feeding, soft play, baking healthy snacks, pretend-play-but-they-help-with-chores-slowly, grocery-shopping-but-make-it-fun, water activities e.g swimming lessons, and a whole realm of what the world can offer.
Although I don't have a driving license, I believe utilising public transport will benefit the children more so that they can experience other people and watch the scenery go by with open narrative from myself where I can put all my focus and attention on them without driving. They understand the concept of time and distance better if they're the ones making the active effort to travel by public transport too.

My Availability
As I'm a new nanny, I'm reaching out to families who need me at any point throughout the week to begin with and I'm flexible on the hours that I can do. I'm very much used to working long hours from the hospital, such as 8am-8pm day shift, 8pm-8am night shift, 9-5s, 4pm-12am shifts, weekends and bank holidays, so I'm open to what's best for the parents.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
- Nannying from £13.00 per hour (gross)
As I'll be a newly reformed ex-diagnostic radiography nanny, my fees will be priced at £13 an hour to begin with due to my lack of nanny-care experience. With my healthcare background, I don't want to sell myself short as I was getting paid £17.67 an hour in my radiography job, which I hope I will surpass in the future as an experienced nanny
My Documents
- UK Driving Licence (issued 31/08/2025)
