Izzy
Babysitter in London
My Summary
About Me
I recently moved back to London after spending 11 years living and working in the United States and am excited to return to providing childcare for local families. As the oldest in a large, close-knit family with 10 grandchildren, caring for children has always been a natural part of my life. I provide warm, compassionate, child-centred care that is tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests, strengths, and personality. Whether supporting a young child through a new experience, engaging in creative play, helping with homework, or simply creating a calm and nurturing environment, I aim to help children feel safe, confident, and valued. I love incorporating music, outdoor activities, reading, and exploration into my time with children, and I strive to build positive, trusting relationships with both children and parents.
My Experience
I bring a combination of professional childcare, education, and family support experience. During my 5 years as a Teaching Assistant at Little Angels Learning Center, I provided developmentally appropriate care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, working closely with parents and specialists to support each child’s growth and wellbeing. Later, as a Paraprofessional in Special Education and Family Support at Reach Charter School in Denver, I supported neurodiverse and emotionally vulnerable children through tailored one-to-one and small-group interventions. I collaborated with teachers, speech pathologists, psychologists, and families to promote children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. More recently, I have spent five years working in mental health crisis and homelessness services, further strengthening my ability to provide calm, compassionate, and responsive support to children and families navigating challenges and transitions.
My Qualifications
My approach to childcare combines professional knowledge with genuine warmth and attentiveness. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, including coursework focused on child development, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. I can provide excellent references from the many families whose children I have cared for over the years. Alongside my childcare experience, I have worked as a guitar teacher and enjoy incorporating creativity and music into children’s learning and play. I also hold a National Proficiency Certificate in Spanish and can introduce children to Spanish language learning in an engaging, age-appropriate way. My background in psychology, education, special needs support, and family services enables me to provide thoughtful, adaptable care that supports each child’s wellbeing and development.
