Jordyn D
Private Tutor in Baldwins Gate (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I am a biochemistry and medical science lecturer with a passion for education, helping young people learn and develop in a supportive environment. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and camping to stay connected with nature, and I play football, which has strengthened my teamwork, communication and leadership skills. I am reliable, patient, approachable and committed to creating a safe, positive and engaging environment for children.
My Experience
I have been caring for my younger nieces and nephews for as long as I can remember, giving me valuable hands-on experience with children of different ages. Through babysitting, I have developed patience, responsibility and the ability to create a safe, fun and nurturing environment. Professionally, I have experience as a science tutor and currently work as a biochemistry and medical science lecturer, where I support students with different learning needs, encourage confidence and adapt my teaching style to suit each individual. These experiences have strengthened my communication, organisation and mentoring skills, which I believe are essential when caring for children.
My Qualifications
I have a strong academic background and a passion for education. I achieved A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Sociology and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), all at grade B or above. I also hold 12 GCSEs at grade 7 (A) or above. I graduated with a First Class degree in Biochemistry and Human Biology and have also completed a Level 3 BTEC Teacher Training qualification. My education has equipped me with excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of child development, learning and safeguarding within educational settings.
My Availability
I am currently on my summer break from my role as a college lecturer, which means I have full-time availability and can offer flexible childcare throughout the day, evenings and weekends. I return to work in late August, after which my availability will be primarily during evenings and weekends. I will always aim to be as flexible as possible and am happy to discuss arrangements to suit your family's needs.
