Hi! I’m Waruni, and I’m a friendly and caring person who genuinely loves spending time with children. I have around two years of experience caring for children of family friends, as well as tutoring and helping children with their homework. I’ve also volunteered at a children’s summer camp, where I enjoyed reading, creative activities and encouraging their imagination.
I love creating fun, happy memories with children through arts and crafts, drawing, baking, imaginative games and outdoor adventures. I’m also someone who enjoys exploring parks and nature, so I’m always happy to get children away from screens and active.
Growing up with two younger sisters has also taught me patience, responsibility and how important it is for children to feel listened to, supported and cared for. I’m proud of being someone children can feel comfortable and happy around, and I always try to make their time with me fun, safe and special. ?
My Experience
My main childcare experience comes from helping to look after my younger sister, who is 10 years younger than me. I supported my family throughout her childhood over several years, helping with homework, reading stories, playing games, arts and crafts, preparing simple meals and snacks, and keeping her entertained in a safe and caring environment. This experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand children's different personalities and needs.
I have also looked after and tutored children of family friends, giving me 2 years of experience with children outside my immediate family.
I also volunteered at a children's book camp in Sri Lanka, where I helped organise activities, read with children, encouraged creativity, and made sure everyone felt included and had fun. I really enjoyed creating a positive environment where children could learn, play, and build confidence.
I'm comfortable planning creative activities such as drawing, colouring, painting, crafts, storytelling, and educational games. I'm also happy to help with schoolwork, bedtime routines, light meal preparation, and caring for families with pets.

I completed paediatric first aid and next level nanny training.
