My Summary
About Me
Self employed Ofsted Registered nanny - Tuesdays becoming available around end November on a regular or adhoc basis.
Additional days available in school holidays.
Fully insured, paediatric first aid trained and enhanced CRB disclosure.
Experienced, mature, reliable with a "firm but fair" approach is a brief and accurate description about me. I very much have a "can do" attitude and love helping babies and children develop. I have been a Childminder since 2006, nannying since 2013 when I moved to Oxfordshire.
Main positions are currently with a family with a now 18m & 5 yr in yr 1, and a family with a 6m.
Activities include play groups/swim lessons/after sch lessons/homework/play dates/library/museum etc & all aspects of care.
Long term family I’ve been working with for over 11 years is needing less cover now that the children are older. I’m lucky to still provide some school pick ups & accompanying the children to their after school activities, together with full days some holidays/inset days.
Ultimately, I enjoy working with all children of varying ages.
Other recent bookings include:
#family of 2 for year and half
#family of 2 for a year
#family of 3 for 9 months
#family of 3 on short term contract.
#4month baby who was 15 months when we finished (family moved)
These positions involved all aspects of childcare and came to a ‘natural’ end.
Many references are on here.
Full day availability is often available in school holidays and these may be booked in advance.
I’m not seeking “stand alone” evening babysitting work, however, my 24yr old daughter (who is also on this site) does p/t nannying/babysitting/house sitting alongside her job.
I am a safe and reliable person who prioritises your child/children: this is central to me in my work and I never under-estimate the trust my families put in me. I want you to know that your children can be happy and cared for by me.
I am self employed, therefore, the only additional costs are petty cash for playgroup admission, snacks etc. & fuel contribution if using my car with the children.
You book & pay for the childcare you need - minimum 3 hours

My Experience
During my childminding years I've looked after 2 sets of twins (not at the same time!) and children from tiny babies to 10/11 years old. Usually I had 3 children under the age of 5 with me each day, plus older children before and after school - not a lot fazes me.

We found Doreen at short notice for some extra help for a couple of weeks. My 18 month old can be a bit unsure of new people, so I was a bit tentative of having someone new for such a short time. I needn't have worried at all. Doreen was brilliant. She was super organised and clear right from the start, which was very helpful - meeting first and bringing all her documents etc. She is very experienced and instinctively knew how to put my daughter at ease. We had smooth handovers from the very first morning, and my little one always came home happy, having been off for various trips to the playground/library/museum etc. She also kept me updated during the day. I would recommend Doreen without hesitation.

Doreen has been with our family now for 8 months and looks after our 15 month old two days a week. She has been so reliable, practical and kindly from the first instant and our daughter bonded with her quickly and easily, sharing big smiles and cuddles. It's lovely seeing them head off together for busy, active days. Doreen is experienced, firm and fair, helping children feel safe and secure by setting clear boundaries and expectations. She is also canny and thoughtful in responding to different characters and adeptly navigated caring for our 5 year old after school. She is always seeking ways to be helpful around the house and has gone above and beyond in assisting with decluttering, always making sure the space is calm and clean after everyone has had a busy day. We feel really lucky to have met her and above all delighted that our daughter is happy and stimulated in her care, which we highly recommend.

We are pleased to share our experience with our wonderful nanny Doreen, who has been part of our family for the past nine months. As busy working parents, finding someone we could trust to care for our two daughters, aged 4 and 7, was important to us, and we felt so fortunate to have found her.
She has been a great help, providing firm but fair guidance that encourages independence and self-care in our girls. Her support with their education has been invaluable; our 7 year old has gained confidence in maths, while our 4 year old has made good progress with reading and writing.
Always reliable and punctual, she organises enjoyable activities that keep the children engaged. We also appreciate her willingness to help around the house, which makes things easier for us during busy weeks. Most importantly, our daughters are safe and happy in her care; they genuinely look forward to spending time with her.
We are very grateful to have her as part of our family and would happily recommend her to any family in need of childcare. Thank you for everything!
