My Experience
Hello! My name is Funmi, and I am passionate about nurturing and supporting the growth and development of children. My journey in childcare began when I was just 18 years old, starting in a private daycare setting where I deepened my knowledge of child development and the importance of learning through play.
I gained valuable experience working at Andrea Montessori, where I embraced the inspiring philosophy of Maria Montessori. This experience taught me to respect each child’s unique pace of learning, fostering independence and curiosity in a warm and supportive environment.
I am proud to have a strong background in childcare covering all age groups from newborns to 18-year-olds. Additionally, I am trained as a SEND specialist lecturer, with a broad understanding of Autism and other learning disabilities, enabling me to provide tailored care and support for every child’s unique needs.
My qualifications also include training as an assessor for early years practitioners aged 16-18, highlighting my commitment to early years education and quality care.
Now, I am excited to open my home as a childminder, focusing on children aged 0-8 years. My goal is to create a nurturing, Montessori-inspired environment where your little ones can thrive, learn, and feel loved. I am currently preparing my home to welcome children in September 2026, ensuring it is a safe, stimulating, and caring space for your family.
I am dedicated, experienced, and compassionate childminder who truly understands the importance of early childhood development and partnership with parents.

We were very happy to have found Funmi during our summer holiday in London. She was wonderful, and the kids loved her. She was also very flexible with our schedule, which we greatly appreciated!
On top of babysitting, Funmi also helped with some cleaning, which was a huge help. We highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring and reliable babysitter.

My son who's has learning disabilities and non verbal. I am so grateful to have Funmi. She is so skillfull with makaton signs and have books with pictures to use for my son. Friendly, and easy going person. Thank you for your patience with Thomas.

Funmi is always punctual, really patient with our daughter who has SEN. Qualified and Experienced in dealing with SEN too and you can tell that when compared with other babysitters.

Funmi kindly accepted to look after our children (2yo and 7yo) at short notice, for 2 days. Our children warm up quickly to her. I feel they were safe and happy with her.
