My Experience
I am a Registered Adult Nurse (RN) with basic skills/knowledge in Paediatric.
I have over 16years experience of caring/looking after children of all ages (new-born to 17years); and includes twins/triplets. The experience covers day/night babysitting, overnight stays, school-runs, holiday and house-sitting, housekeeping, cleaning, food/groceries shopping and preparation. I am registered DBS check on the Update Service. I’m a non-smoker and can cope being around certain pets (controlled dogs where possible this is due to childhood fear [please do ask] and I DO NOT DO SNAKES SO KINDLY TAKE NOTE).
I love being around children (little Munchkins) and I look forward to having my own Blessings someday. I don’t mind making funny faces, singing baby songs, playing with dolls or getting messy as long as the child/children are having fun (I’m willing to take the risk for them).
-In an emergency I can perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) both in Adults and Paediatric (PILS). Resuscitation Adults Levels 1,2 & 3 and Paediatric Levels 2 & 3.
-Other Mandatory & Statutory courses/practical training completed yearly as part of my registration as a RN and relevant to my role for this post includes:
-Safeguarding Children (Levels 1, 2 and 3)
-Food Hygiene (I have also worked as a waitress and bar manager so i know the importance of keeping a safe environment and Food Hygiene)
-Enhanced COVID-19 Awareness
-Duty of care, communication, consent, privacy, dignity, and Fire and Safety.
• A desire to ensure delivery of safe and effective positive care.
• Assist with personal care whilst allowing the child (where appropriate) to be as independent as much as possible.
• Assist/supervise in preparing, serving and feeding the child and where appropriate encourage to be as independent as much as possible. This is vital as i believe this helps the child's development.
Volunteering/Charity work:
-Work experience as a School Assistant: Linden Primary School
-Assist my neighbour who is elderly with her everyday activities including shopping, gardening, housekeeping.
-I volunteer at my local church (this includes teaching children at Bible study on Sundays, playtime, planning and organising play dates/other activities such as swimming. I am involved in Ushering, Hosting, cleaning and preparing the church for service and functions).
The satisfaction that I gain in helping and caring for individuals drove my ambitions to a higher level in studying Nursing at University. There is nothing comparable with the happiness and satisfaction that I obtain from this profession. My early life experiences and interactions with diverse groups of people have greatly shaped my character. And throughout, I have been described as a focused, determined, motivated, caring and social person with desirable interpersonal and communication skills.
I love planning and decorating which led to my interest in events planning/management, I love to travel and explore different cultures and cuisine. Keeping fit /eating well is important for me hence i enjoy going for runs/walks in the nature and i love dancing (especially off-beat). I am a passionate, caring and spontaneous individual who makes the most of everything in life. I believe we are in this world for a greater purpose and may God help us all to fulfil that. One of my desires is to achieve my goals and strive to the top of my abilities. As someone who is focused, determined, caring and motivated to succeed, given the opportunity to work with you I look forward to beginning my experience at your institution with great enthusiasm.
