We have 2 Childminding settings on the Chessington / Surbiton border called Flowers Day Care and Little Flowers.
We are 5 Childminder’s working together (Suzanne, Adrian, Maria, Sharma & Sophie) in Chessington, Surrey and we work with 3 Ofsted and Agency registered childminder’s assistants between both of our settings. This allows us to provide the children with lots of attention and enables us to meet their individual needs. We aim to provide a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere for preschool age children and babies, the babies and toddlers in our care are happy and engaged and enjoy their time with us. We have lots of 5 star reviews on our website if you'd like to check us out.
We have no pets and do not smoke.
We have a very unique childcare setting for many reasons, namely…
- We are very flexible – should you be contracted for your child to attend part time, you are free to book in extra hours and days as and when needed.
- We only care for babies and preschool age children up to 5 years, so we have no older children attending in the afternoons and no school drop offs / pick ups to take your child on.
- We are all qualified childcare professionals and we continually undertake additional courses throughout the year. In a nursery one person in the room is trained in Paediatric first aid, with us, every person in the room is trained in paediatric first aid.
- We provide everything! Breakfast, snacks, lunch, formula / toddler milk (of your choice), whole milk, nappies, wipes and barrier cream (of your choice) – all included in fees.
We have two lovely settings both in the same road - Little Flowers is all on one level with a dedicated playroom, nap room, nappy room and craft room plus a big beautiful garden. It is large, inviting and secure and because it is only used for childcare we have been able to design the layout to meet our childcare needs exactly. We have a private entrance leading to our dedicated playroom, a large lounge with kitchenette for preparing meals and bottles and dedicated quiet room for naps and resting. We have a downstairs shower room with nappy changing facilities and a large fully enclosed and secure back garden.
Our other setting Flowers Day Care (which is 16 houses away!) is a house with large playroom, craft room, sensory room, library and a lovely enclosed garden. Both settings care for children aged 3 months - 5 years years and both follow the same ethos of providing friendly and small group care in a home from home environment. For more details about the differences between both of our settings please visit our website - we have recently uploaded some new pictures.
I enjoy spending time with children and believe my skills are ideally suited to the role of a childminder. I aim to provide a warm, fun and inviting childcare service for children and their families.
Our setting has been inspected recently and we achieved the "Good" rating in every category. (2019)
We are 2.2 miles from Surbiton station (7 min drive). We are a 2 minute drive from the Ace of Spades roundabout.
We run a small group and relaxed setting enjoying indoor play, role play games, stories, music, singing and dancing, crafts and garden play. Our setting is specifically designed for children aged 3 months - 5 years. We operate with the professionalism expected from a nursery but are able to offer childcare with a much more personal approach, getting to know families and children extremely well and catering to their individual needs.

I have 10 years experience as a home carer and care manager and now 11 years experience as an Ofsted registered childminder, I have numerous childcare qualifications and countless glowing reviews from parents.
As a mother myself I understand how difficult it can be to leave your child with someone new, we do all we can to ensure you and your little one are happy and settled as quickly as possible. We create a Whatsapp group for each family we work with and send pictures of your little one enjoying their time with us. This is especially good for settling in when we can reassure you that your little one is happy and you can also message me throughout the day to check on your little one.
Adrian is my husband and is a qualified childminder, he has a great rapport with the children and they all agree he is great fun. He is level 3 qualified in childcare as well as having qualifications in safeguarding and paediatric first aid.
Maria is an ex english teacher, mother of 2 and level 3 qualified in childcare. She has years of experience in both a childminding and school setting. She is very caring and loves doing different crafts with the children.
Sharma has 4 years experience as a Childminder, she has an extremely bubbly and loving personality and all the children adore her. She is very understanding of the wrench it can be for new parents to leave their children and makes their reassurance a key part of her role.
We have numerous personal and professional references available which you can read in our portfolio should you wish to visit and you are also welcome to make contact with one of our current parents to ask them anything about us.

Our little boy (13 months) has been at Flowers for a few months now and we are so happy with the setting. We had a bad start at another local nursery and we are so glad we pulled him out and sent him to Flowers instead. The staff are all so caring, you get regular updates on your child every day via what’s app and they do a whole range of activities catered to the different ages. Would not hesitate to recommend!
Flowers Day Care and it’s staff are amazing!
Both our children have been going to Flowers since they were 1 years old. They are now 3 and 4 years old and sadly it is time for them to leave due to us moving further away.
It was the best decision we made to send them here. There is a lot of choice for parents when it comes to childcare but for us this was perfect. A setting with a good amount of children to staff, great environment with outdoor space, no school runs. The activities they do on a daily basis are so much fun, whilst also ensuring their level of development is met with appropriate tasks.
We are regularly updated during the day with pictures which is so nice and reassuring to see.
The option for extra ad hoc childcare has been invaluable for us, the flexibility they have offered us has been brilliant.
Our children have made such good friendships here and adore the staff so much!
Flowers really have been such an inspirational and positive influence on our children’s early years and we can’t sing their praises enough!!
Thank you so much to everyone at Flowers, you will be missed!
We absolutely love flowers day care
Our Noah as soon as we tell him shall we go school grabs his shoes and is extremely excited.
Lovely group and really nice setting.
What I love is that there is no drop off or pick ups so you know your little one stays safe in one place.
Very flexible especially with myself working the odd hours, so when the extra hours are needed or a extra day the always help us out.
Noah is very lucky to have amazing people looking after him!!!
I was so delighted to find Flowers Day Care, Susanne, Margaret and Lisa gave my little girl a safe and secure haven where she grew in confidence, motor skills and social skills. Every time I picked up my little one, I stood outside just watching her interacting with the children and adults and she appeared to be very content with smiles and babbles and was very confident around the playroom, it was so lovely to watch.
I chose Flowers Day Care as my first child care as they were thorough in their paperwork, always updated me with feedback of each day and supported me with any questions I had. I felt relaxed in their company and so did my little girl.
We then had to move to a new county, it was a sad time as both of us felt secure with Flowers Day Care. However, It is a great place for your child to learn and grow in a comfortable, safe and stimulating environment.
Our daughter started at flowers day care just before turning 1 and she has absolutely loved it there. She built up such a lovely relationship with both Suzanne and Margaret, as well as the other children. A wide range of activities, games and singing was always organised and our daughter was always very happy to be dropped off there in the morning. As parents, we were kept very well informed of Madelynne's time there with her diary that was filled in daily and being sent regular photos. I would recommend this childminder to anyone!
