Dear Parents,
My name is Nikki and I am 29 years old. I am a caring, patient and fun individual and pride myself on being punctual and reliable.
I’m currently looking after a little one and have been with the family for over 2 years, but it’s due to come to an end in September as my little girl will start school and the hours won’t work. My little girl comes with me and all the children have become very close so it will be sad to leave them.
I’m hoping to find another nanny role where I am still able to drop and pick my daughter up from school. I am not a registered childminder but I will often bring the children I care for back to my house so that the parents can work from home without hearing the children sing Disney songs from the top of their lungs! This could also work for another family as having a child myself I have lots of toys etc at home. I also have an allotment for the children so that they can grow their own fruit and vegetables and play in the mud kitchen!
My daughter is due to start school in Dartford in September so school drop off and pick ups could be an option.
I enjoy taking the children in my care to play groups, fun and exciting outings where they can interact with other children and learn lots of new things. Each day I encourage different activities to keep children motivated and stimulated.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, socialising with friends and spending time with my family.
My Experience
My experience consists of the following:
I have worked in childcare for nearly 14 years now.
I started out as an apprentice in a little nursery as soon as I left school. I was based in the 2-5year old room and here I gained my NVQ level 2.
Once gaining my level 2 I moved onto a NHS nursery (bright sparks) where I worked within the baby room (3months-2years). Here I gained my NVQ 3 in childcare. Due to NHS cutbacks we were told the nursery could face closure. I had been there for nearly 3 years and was devastated. I was then offered a job at a outstanding day nursery called ‘Graces day nursery’. I worked with the pre school children and really enjoyed preparing them for ‘big school’. I enjoyed planning exciting activities and encouraged learning through play. I also acted as room leader when needed.
As the NHS nursery did not end up closing I was offered my old position back in the baby room. I worked mostly solely in the baby room planning activities for them working within the EYFS. I then realised I could offer so much more working alongside a family in a nanny position so I started working for a Lovely family with two children whom were 6 and 10 months old when I started. In this role I done the school runs, prepared fresh and healthy meals and organised play dates. I also took the children to lots of different activities, trips out and play dates with the nanny friends I had made. I have a really good relationship with the parents and often met up for coffee whilst on maternity leave. Due to me going on maternity leave they had to find alternative childcare and unfortunately I’m unable to go back as they don’t want to disturb the children again (very understandable!!) as they found it hard to settle into a different setting.
I have also worked with children with Special Needs, I accompanied a family on a weekend trip to Disneyland Paris to look after their child who has Cerebral Palsy.
I have a full clean driving license and my own car.
