Manor fields childminder graded outstanding with 20 years experience. Through play and nurturing I develops can do attitude in my kids.
My environment is set up to meet my kiddies needs and interests. My children learn through taking risks , having their learning scaffolded by me, by working with their peers as a team . I value all year round outdoor play, child led learning , developing a can do attitude where each child knows they are loved and valued for just being them . My garden is astroturf, my kids love to explore messy play from the day they start!
I have a full time space for Manor Fields school.
Possible part time under 5 space in
My thing is outdoor play and allowing children to develop into independent learners.I love my job with a passion and am so so proud how brilliantly my childminding children are developing. At the core of how I work is enabling children to feel secure and loved. A child who feels valued and knows that that both they and their parents have a voice that is listened to can achieve anything.
I provide a home from home environment with the benefit of me having a strong knowledge base. All my children have gorgeous personalities. I put a strong emphasis on sharing , being kind and good manners. My older children have grown up in my care from an early age and have learnt positive behavoiur from the older children and now act as good role model to the younger children. My home is like an extended family where all play together.
I have been influenced by Pen Green , in Corby , where I studied at in 2015 and 16. The more I read, the more I understand the dynamics of how children work and therefore I can support their learning to a greater degree. Pen Green is a research base which focuses on true child lead learning, working closely in partnership with parents and supporting children's schemas. Where I was taught by internationally acclaimed teaching staff which impacts positively on how I care for my children and support you .
I use the baby's days website for childminding. This allows me to send parents photos, diaries , notes and observations during the day, which everyone loves. I also use what's ap and have group for my parents to share info if they wish.
I use retrospective planning which means I set up my environment to meet the. Hildrens needs and interests and then scaffold their play to develop their learning.
I have all the usual certificates from NVQ3 in childcare and child protection to the usual first aid certificates. I do lots of on line training and love research books. To me knowledge is like unlocking the door into the child's mind and seeing why children behave in certain ways. This enables me to focus my care on not just what the child needs to learn and their interests but also think of imaginative ways of enabling them to achieve their full potential through their play.
I work out of the box. Encouraging children to choose what to play with with, how to use it , to be engaged and to problem solve. Under the influence of Pen Green I encourage my children to make dens, climbing frames from crates and planks and to explore through lots of messy activities. I use Alistair Bryce Cleggs ABCs, which is providing a range of fine and gross motor skills activities to aid early writing, this ranges from using brooms to develop their shoulder strength to using pegs to develop their finger control. All things children need to develop so that they can write when they get older.
I am lucky to have an astro turfed garden, a sand area, lots of garden tables with toys. I have things like an outdoor painting wall, chalk and white boards, a large range of outdoor toys. My 6 foot tree house has rocket slide, rockwall and cargo net. I recently added an outside covered area which is invaluable.
My toy room floor is covered with number and letter mats. Fun and safety linked all in one! Earlier this year I reorganised my toys, I have 84 boxes, 39 trays and fitted wardrobe with toys available at all times. As well as numerous outdoor boxes. All toys are photographed and are in albums so even the little ones can look and choose what to play with.
My kitchen seats 6 and I have highchairs and toddler tables so all can cook, eat and have fun with messy play together. I promote healthy eating. I only offer healthy meals and snacks. All meals are vegetable loaded. Puddings tend too be fruit, but we will have cakes/biscuits if it is part of a celebration or we go to a toddler group.
I provide children with numerous resources, encouraging the children to think how they can use toys/resources to achieve their goals.
I started childminding when my eldest, now 23 was 3. I love having children around me and laugh that I have the best job ever. I get paid to play! My day starts at 5.30a.m so once children arrive I have food, activities and any housekeeping sorted for the day.
I link in with a brilliant pre school, Thorley christian centre. I can take/collect children to/from Manor Fields school.
I use my parents as references and have permission to pass on their numbers to prospective parents.
I have a dog called Finley who love kids . He is a 3 year old cockerpoo who is well trained , loves the children and is a wonderful snuggly member of my family.
I have three grown up children, David is 21, Kathy is 23 and Crissie is 25. Oh yes and One patient husband ! My kids are all growing up fast so I have lots of room in my home and heart for a new child and their family.
Presently I have a vacancy part time vacancy that could become full time.
