Muddy Boots is a New childminding setting that is registered with Ofsted and is based in Ninfield, East Sussex. We offer children from 0-12 years a fantastic chance to experience childcare from a loving family home and surrounding natural environments.
Ninfield is a semi-rural community that is positioned only 6 miles from the coast. Here at Muddy Boots we plan to take full advantage of all our surrounding environments. Regular outings include trips to Bexhill and Battle library, Ninfield park and woods, Catsfield park and woods, Bexhill beach and Edgerton park and local shops such as the farm shops, fishmongers, butchers and supermarkets.
At Muddy Boots home-base, your child will be offered a range of rich experiences and activities both indoors and outdoors. The main playroom includes exciting resources that are carefully selected to meet your growing child’s developmental needs and interests. This includes a creative corner with a 5ft wide easel for those budding artist; a whole chalk wall for those aspirational authors; a cosy corner to sit back relax listen to music, read a book or just ponder; a role play corner that ignites the imagination, what will it be today? And lots more resources that your child can independently select to enhance their play and learning needs.
Children can access the garden directly from the playroom. Here they can enjoy first hand experiences of nature throughout every season. Keep in touch with the neighhhhh- bours ( sorry, i couldn’t resist!) horses, goats, birds, rabbits, dragonflies and so much more! And when they have moved on from that they can make mud potions in the mud kitchen, sand monsters in the 6ft-6ft sandpit, dandelion and daisy chains or measure mounds and mountains; and that’s not all! Although, you’ll have to visit to see the rest!
I have been working in the childcare sector for the past 16 years. Having started out as a childminder, I then was recruited by the National Childminding Association as a Childminding Network Coordinator and Tutor. For the past 10 years I have worked as an Early Years advisor for the local authority working with childminders, nurseries, pre-schools, schools and playwork settings.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my previous roles, however my passion is childcare and education and when the opportunity arose for me to open a purpose built home-base setting, I could't resist!

Did you know your child’s breakfast should provide 20% of their daily nutritional and energy requirements, this is only 10% less than their lunch and equal to their tea allowance. Here at Muddy Boots we understand that not everyone wants breakfast as soon as they wake up and sometimes if the alarm doesn’t go off or the clocks have changed, eeK! You’ve ran out of time!
Breakfast is an important meal for young children and we want to support you in ensuring your child has the best start to their day. If your child isn’t ready to eat breakfast before you leave your home, they are welcome to join us here at Muddy Boots, free of charge. We will always follow the Eat Better, Start Better: Food and drinks guidelines for each meal and snack and therefore, will not provide breakfast products that are high in sugar such as sugar-coated or chocolate flavoured cereals. We will also aim to choose products with a low salt content. For further details please see our weekly menus and Food and Drink policy. You are also welcome to discuss this with me at anytime or if you prefer to arrange a meeting for a more convenient time.
