I'm a 23 year old childcarer with 7 years worth of first hand experience and many interests.
I am a keen musician; I sing mostly as I am signed to a record label and was the alto leader of the Manchester United Foundation Choir, but I also play guitar, piano, drums and the ukulele. Other interests include football, acting, dancing, gym, basketball, traveling and skydiving!
My passion for working with children has increased hugely over the years; 1 reason being that my mum has been a registered childminder for 12 years, allowing me to be alongside her whilst working and learning more and more as time went on.
I have completed the Prince’s Trust business course and am now on the road of opening up my own nursery, giving me more of a strive to do well in the jobs I have now.
In terms of my personality, I would say I am very easy to get along with, highly punctual and extremely patient! (This has been tested many times, I'm sure you can all relate)
I have always been mature and level-headed for my age but when it comes to caring for children I have the ability to turn into any princess, Jedi, unicorn, paw patrol character, ninja or even a professional firefighter. (These and more have ALL been tested. Multiple times)
I was a volunteer with the organisation Jigsaw, where I worked with others assisting young adults with disabilities on days out with this group. I was a volunteer there for 4 years.
This profile has allowed me to be a babysitter for over 7 years now, in which time I have babysat for children from newborn age (3 weeks old) to children who are 14 years old and all ages in between.
Over this time, I have also cared for children with autism, seizures, mental health issues and ADHD, as well as having experience with twins.
My first full time nannying job (2016) required me to care for 3 children from the ages of 4 months, 2 years and 4 years. I was with this lovely family for 10 months and gained plenty of new experience as a nanny and caring full time for younger children.
Alongside the usual cleaning, preparing food and homework tasks, other personal tasks included:
•educational games suited to each child's age and personal development
•motor, educational and speech development
•Finding any areas in need of improvement and encouraging this through creative play, outdoor fun and more (pictures can be provided)
I believe that a happy household is very important especially from such young ages, so I did my best to ensure the happiness of the children was at the forefront of anything I did.
In July 2018, I stayed in Ashton for a week whilst the 4 year old, 9 year old and 10 year old’s mum went on holiday. This was a completely new experience of caring for children on a full time live-in basis and we had a fun packed week filled with picnics, roller skating, zip wire fun, pizza making and more!
I have had 2 year’s worth of nursery experience including working in an ‘outstanding’ rated nursery & during lockdown I have been nannying for 3 children and taking online courses, building on my experience and knowledge every day.
My last nannying job required me to care for 5 amazing children between the ages of 6 months - 6 years so I learned new things everyday as well as building up my experience, knowledge and creativity.
•Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce
•Emergency First Aid training
•Paediatric First Aid training
Other online and face to face courses such as:

Tameka is currently caring for my 5 children aged between 6 months and 6 years (at start). Myself and the children can feel the passion, energy and joy that she brings to her job every day. She displays the same enthusiasm whether she is looking after my 6 month old baby on his own, or whether she has all 5 kids after school. She plans activities that help to develop each child in their own unique challenges and milestones, and I trust her with their safety implicitly.
The way Tameka interacts with the children is amazing to see, she speaks to them calmly and clearly and they respond beautifully. They have really taken to her and I am so happy with her in this nanny role.
Tameka is an organised individual that is very passionate about her role as a nanny. She is thoughtful and kind and truly has helped me i.
She has made my little boys day full of fun and education and taken the stress away of home-schooling.
Not sure how to put how amazing Tameka is in words. From the moment my daughter met her they had a very special bond, she seems to be able to connect with children in a way I have rarely seen before. Her bright smile, warmth & energy is infectious. She is the only person we would ask outside of family to watch our daughter & you won’t regret booking her x
Tameka has been my babysitter for 5 years. I honestly wouldn't use anyone else!
My children absolutely love Tameka!
Tameka helps with my childrens homework, makes their tea, offers to help with the washing, baths my children and is very patient around my four year old son who is autistic. Tameka invents games for the children which they love to play and genuinely loves her job which you can easily see!
Tameka is a lovely young lady who is polite, professional, fun, patient and has honestly been an absolute god send to me!
Tameka has been looking after my baby since she was approx 6 months old. Was initially nervous about leaving such a small baby in someone else's hands but she really made us be at ease. My baby is happy and looks well looked after.
