Hi my name is David. Me and my wife Alison (who is also a registered Childminder)work as a team under the name of DAVIDS DAY CARE. We provide a wealth of expertise to ensure your child (children) achieve their potential.
Previous to becoming a Childminder my wife was a Teacher, she taught children with additional needs in a special school and in a mainstream school.
A typical week with us involves trips to the local parks, soft play areas, arts and craft activities, outside play, cooking, messy play, drawing, painting, reading stories, board games, puzzles, play doh, dressing up, music and dance and much more. Alison has a level 1 in British Sign Language and shares signs with the children during circle and story time.
Our home is set up for lots of fun, we have an extensive toy range and we regularly update and rotate toys to keep the children stimulated.
We have a large garden which is separated into parts, messy play, free play, vegetable garden and our 'forest' area where the children have a bug hotel, a hedgehog house and a mud kitchen to play with. Also in the garden we have a tree house where the older children go to play or relax in, a trampoline, football/table tennis /multi function table, a slide and lots of toys. All equipment is age appropriate and checked for damage/wear and tear.
In the vegetable garden, we have grown peas, carrots, potatoes, sunflowers and pumpkins which the children enjoy.
The activities and equipment we provide the children all help the children move through the EYFS ensuring that all the areas of learning are covered and catered for daily.
We provide you with detailed daily dairies with pictures where appropriate, so that you can see what we have been up to during the day.
In my last OFSTED inspection I got a Good and since then we have worked hard to improve on the comments given, to ensure that my next inspection is an outstanding one !!!
Our aims are to provide your child a loving, nurturing, safe environment that will help them with the transition of starting school/nursery.
We also offer an excellent before and after school club with a pick up and drop off service to Yew Tree primary school and St Mary's primary school.
For those of you who require a holiday club for older children we also offer this as well. Whilst at the holiday club your child will be given the opportunity to come on trips out, we have been to Chester zoo, Blackpool zoo, Eureka, Knowsley Safari park, the police museum, local parks and soft play centres.
We also have a dog who is very friendly but if you do not like dogs he has his own run in the garden and inside has he own space to be in away from the children.
We can provide children aged 3/4 to receive 15 hours nursery education grant and also provide the 2 year funding to those families that meet the criteria.
We accept childcare vouchers.
We are members of a professional association and attend professional development training to keep up to date with any changes.
As a father of three I have plenty of experience, from dealing with newborns, toddlers and older children. I have attended many training sessions which include Safe guarding children, Empathy doll, how to make the most of outdoor play and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

David has been my daughters childminder for over 1 year now. He looks after my daughter who is nearly three years old.
My daughter loves her time she spends with David and enjoys various activities which include swimming, playgroups, library visits and activity centers.
Since David has been looking after my daughter she has come on leaps and bounds, not only in her personality but also in her learning.
I would recommend David to anyone as a childminder as he is outgoing and reliable. He has also been a fantastic support to my family and I know my daughter is safe and cared for when she is with him.
