About Me

I am a mummy to my two sons years and daughter, we all live together with my husband, 2 Cavalier King Charles spaniels and a Jack Russell cross Shitzu in our familly home in South Witham.

I was brought up in Stamford and attended Stamford High School then University in Chelmsford.

When my son was 10 months old I returned to work and had no option but to seek childcare. Having tried a nursery for a short period we changed to a childminder – My son settled much quicker and we found it was more of a homely environment.

Knowing what I looked for in a childminder; I provide reassurance to parents with the happy, friendly, safe, stimulating and fun environment children receive whilst in my care..

My Experience

I have been Ofsted registered since January 2010. In my recent inspection March 2014, I proudly received an Outstanding grade throughout.

I deliver the Early Years Foundations Stage (EYFS) in partnership with nurseries and reception classes. I am a member of Pacey which provide ongoing training and support.

I provide educational and creative activities for the children and have a large choice of toys, puzzles, books and games to suit all ages. I have many outdoor toys and games including a two storey wooden playhouse and have been fortunate to have received an outdoor grant from Lincolnshire county council, so where possible like to take the children outside to play - which many prefer.

As part of my setting pedagogy, working in collaboration with parents of the children I care for, is paramount to reinforce and optimism learning. Much of our play and learning is sensory based and involves child led exploration, with as much outdoor and woodland fun as possible. Having the Forest School leadership training will also enable me to enhance children's learning in the outdoor woodland environment.

I am a member of the Childminding Network and deliver EYE to 3 and 4 years olds, allowing parents to claim up to 30 hours of care free through the government.
