I am a warm, caring, friendly, fun & reliable nanny. I have 12+years experience in working with children in a variety of settings.
I am a self employed nanny, therefore pay own tax & NI contributions.
I very much enjoy all aspects of my work.. Nannying/babysitting is by far my preferred role to date.
Prior to working as a nanny for last 5 years, I also have worked in primary schools & Nursery & pre school settings. Child care is my on going Passion. .
I can offer ad hoc morning care and babysitting in the evenings ...
For me, working with children is a privilege & a responsibility that I respect & take seriously- I'm fortunate to have worked with so many! I have developed really close relationships with both children & their parents.
I am passionate about working with children and building secure relationships.I am calm, confident and can cope well under pressure. I have a good sense of humour and really enjoy relating to and interacting with children. My experiences of working in different settings and with children who have differing needs has given me a good understanding of how children develop and how to value their uniqueness (see below).
In terms of principles of child care, I believe in; the importance of routines, working inside the family values set in place by the parents, communicating clearly, building trusting relationships and showing respect. Consistency of approach is essential!
Aside from working with children I enjoy being outdoors and have a love of animals and nature in general. I really enjoy walking my 2 golden retrievers on the downs and am passionate about my garden. I also love camping - the wilder the better! I am a keen cook and pride myself on making sauces from scratch and providing a healthy diet for my family. I enjoy reading real life stories from other cultures and am interested in world politics. I am very proud of the micro finance loans I have made through lend with care & really enjoy seeing how my loans can help make a difference- it's something I really look forward to doing each month! - if you want to check this out - Lend with care... look at ‘lending teams & search for Brighton & hove kids’

My husband is head teacher of a small primary school, so I am fully up to date with the on going changes within schools & can utilise this knowledge well and access any necessary resources if required.
My nanny roles have been my most enjoyable job - I love the combination of reward, responsibility, connection and effort involved- it really motivates me!
I also have experience of: making cities out of lego, Nerf gun games, playing Monopoly, arts & craft, cake making, gymnastics, dinosaurs, puzzles, phonics, super Mario (basic skills) & water fights in the summer. I am happy to take young children swimming & water confident older children too.

I am able to organise trips out, as well as plan activities at home.
I enjoy activities that engage & excite children, using their own interests & imagination.. I am very happy to join in with creative play/role play/games. I enjoy reading books with children, to develop their interests & language. I also enjoy trips to local parks, as these provide many points of conversation, as well as fresh air, exercise & social opportunities for children.

Donna has been sitting for our 2 children (4 and 6) for the past couple of years now. (Day and evening) She has developed an amazing rapport with both of them and they love her coming to sit for them. Donna is caring and is very child centred and is always interested in what the children have been doing and any extra help and support they may need. Our children can be very sensitive around new people and Donna has been amazing at putting them at ease and making sure they are not only happy and settled but thriving. We trust Donna completely and she feels like one of the family for our children. We can't recommend her highly enough.
I have four children of different ages (5-7-10-13) and demands - we haven't had much experience with sitters and were all a bit apprehensive however Donna instantly made us all feel comfortable and at ease. She is very kind natured and maternal and can interact with all of them on their own levels.
She looks after my children once a fortnight and they all look forward to her coming. Am really pleased to have found her and can't recommend her enough :)
Donna is such a wonderful person, she has been nannying my little boy (17mo) for the last 4 months on a regular weekly basis on Wednesdays.
Donna is incredibly experienced, calm, child-focused and caring. I can see she genuinely takes a deep interest in the child's individual needs. This has meant that my child has had a regular carer in Donna and has built up a lovely relationship.
Donna has facilitated play and activities in and out of the home, creative play, arts and exploration. She is very hands-on and really gets into the world of the child.
She has also been a wonderful friend and we will miss her very much!
Thank you Donna!!!
Donna looked after my 2 y/o at short notice, I had arranged a lovely night for my husband in Brighton (we're from London) and Donna came over to look after our little girl at our hotel.
I was apprehensive about having a babysitter as my daughter is used to being with family but Donna put me at ease straight away - she sent me regular text updates and my daughter went out of her way to tell me she had fun with Donna the next day... It's a shame she doesn't live in London! Highly recommend!! X
Donna is our nanny, for two children.
Children and we like her very much, as she is very thoughtful, very organised, absolutely delightful person.
I can be at work without worrying about my children as I know that Donna will provide best care, she will make sure that their day and week is well balanced in terms of activities, food (taking into consideration their school menu as well!)
We could not wish for a better nanny and person in our children's care.
