About Me
Hello, my childcare setting is named Bright Beginnings. I have changed career from University Lecturer in Early years Education to become a childminder.
I live in a 3 bedroom detached house in the Accrington College area of Accrington. Myself, my husband and 4 of our 5 children live with us.
My setting compromises 4 large rooms which are split into the areas of learning. I also have an excellent outdoor area which children can access any time.
I am a very friendly person, passionate and enthusiastic about children's learning and development.
Children learn best through active learning, creativity and critical thinking, children are given opportunities to develop their learning and skills throughout a wide range of exciting activities throughout the week.
All meals are healthy and nutritious, a copy of the weekly menu will be given to parents.
I also run a holiday club which involves lots of activities and opportunities for purposeful learning-please contact me for me information.
I have a full, clean driving license.
I am fully insured.
My Experience
I am a parent to 5 children aged 23,18,12,4 and1 year old.
I have previously been employed as a Teaching Assistant within the Early Years and University Lecturer in Early Years Education. I taught adults from a wide range of backgrounds and experience around childcare, such as childminders, nursery nurses, nursery managers and teaching assistants.
Through my job role, I also visited the settings of students where a report was written of their job role and how they supported children's learning.
I was extremely passionate about my job role but decided that I wanted to look after my own child as well as others.
My Qualifications
BA (Hons) degree in Education Studies
PGCE in the Life Long Learning Sector
2 modules completed at Masters level
Cache level 3 in Home based Childcare
Certificate in Safeguarding
Safeguarding level 1
First Aid
Certificate in supporting children with speech, language and communication needs
Food allergy training
Certificate in delivering the EYFS
