About Me
I am a fun, caring and hardworking young adult who loves looking after and working with children of all ages. I have just graduated from UCL and am taking a year out before sarting as a secondary Maths Teacher with Teach First in September 2014. I am part of a large family and have strong family values, which I think has encouraged my love of childcare. I also speak good French, having lived there as a child.
I am also happy to tutor and have some experience of it.
My Experience
Last summer 13 weeks in the USA working in a camp for adults and children with special needs. We received a great deal of training and I feel very comfortable and happy working with people of all disabilities. I was also Sports and games instructor for a time, demonstrating I can lead fun activities and plan and execute an enjoyable experience for children.
I completed a two day babysitting course at the age of 14, which included first aid, and have since babysat most weekends for families in my village in Hampshire. I have looked after children from the ages of 3 weeks to fourteen years old, in the evening and during the day. I have also been in charge of running a summer tennis camp for 7-12 year olds and have organised easter-egg hunts for the children in my village every year for the past five years.
I currently volunteer with two organisations; Great Ormond St Hospital, where I am play support and Westminster Befriend a Family, where I take an underprivileged young girl on outings around London once weekly.
I have worked full-time in Berlin in a Kindergarten for a month, looking after children aged 6 months to two years old.
In the past families have asked me to do their ironing after their children are in bed, which I am more than happy to do. I am comfortable looking after babies (changing nappies, feeding etc.) and I love to play with the children and read to them before bed.
My Qualifications
I have 12 GCSEs and 5 A-levels and I completed I two-day babysitting training course.
I have a First Class Degree in Psychology, from UCL.
My Availability
I am quite flexible in my availability, as I am currently only working part time.
