About Me
I am a qualified teacher. I have also recently completed the National Tutoring Programme School Led Tutor Training Course and am now registered as a school based tutor with them. I am currently employed by a school to provide afterschool tutoring to Key Stage 1 children.
I have had training in the Read Write Inc Phonics programme, including specific training on one to one tutoring for children who need additional support. I am confident I would be able to apply these skills to other phonics programmes to be consistent with what your child is learning at school.
I have also had recent training on the Hertfordshire STEPS therapeutic approach to behaviour management and attended a Better Behaviour Masterclass.
My style of tutoring would incorporate a variety of learning styles and ensure plenty of practical experience to support children to make links between what they are learning and what they already know, to aid retention of new information.
My Experience
I was a previously a primary school teacher and have 18 years experience working with children, 4 in teaching and 14 in childminding and I am now back working in a Primary school.
My Qualifications
I have a Post Graduate certificate of Education, specialising in Early Years.
I have current Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Children certificates
