Hello, working with children is my passion. It is a joy to watch and support a child in making new discoveries about the world around them. I am currently working towards my “Curiosity Approach” accreditation, which has inspired me to develop and evolve the provision I offer even further.
The busy bees and I spend a lot of time outside, either in local parks & woodland, or in the back garden... We love learning together, and playing with authentic resources that ignite wonder and engagement.
Most of the children I care for start when they are babies and remain with me until they are heading for school. I still see the majority of my past busy bees on the school run!
Being a childminder allows me to offer uniquely tailored experiences for each child I care for, putting to use my years of previous experience as a teacher, nursery nurse and nanny. I follow the same EYFS curriculum as any nursery, but deliver it in my own way. Children learn far more than early writing and maths skills.
I am a qualified and experienced early years teacher with up to date and relevant training, including (but not limited to) first aid, child protection, speech and language development, makaton signing etc.
I live in a 3 bedroomed house in the peaceful village of Lydden, with my two children (both at primary).
I have taken a break from teaching until my children are much older. As a childminder I can take the wealth of knowledge and experience I have gained and use it to create a really stimulating, caring environment for children in my care.
