About Me

I am a graduate (since 1995) and worked as a full-time teacher in the UK and overseas for many years, with a proven record of having increased students' level remarkably and consistently. I have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) available upon request.
Please don't wait until your child is 10/11 to do something about it.

My Experience as a Curriculum teacher: I worked as a private tutor, teaching KS1, 2 and 3 curriculum to pupils from nursery to GCSE levels, including maths and English, as well as foreign languages.

+DBS presented upon request
+Mothers are permitted to wait with their children in the premises.
+Parking Facilities Available.

My Qualifications:
A good degree qualification that helped me teach with ease and achieve maximum results.

*Maths & English: Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 curriculum.

*Music: Piano lessons for grade 1, 2 and 3.

*French tuition for all ages

What can we help with?

Pre-school - from one year old to Reception: I have the ability to work with children from as early as two years old, to give them a head start and prepare them for the challenge ahead.

SATS: KS1, 2 and 3
Curriculum: Maths, English and any other added subjects.
Children from the age of six work towards their SATS exams during the two stages of primary education.
This will involve mainly maths and English.
Learning music or/and a foreign language like French can be a bonus if you're planning an academic future for your child as foreign languages especially have become part of the Baccalaureate; a must requirement to apply for any Rustle University after A Levels.

The Pre-GCSE Years
Years 7 and 8 and in some schools year 9 as well.
Efforts will be made to strengthen the pupils' weaknesses in maths, English, (French & music if chosen) subjects and to prepare them to become more confident, motivated and self-reliant.

I have the tools, the skills and the eagerness to make a change in your child's level and grade. I will keep a record of progress for you to witness and your child will definitely increase in confidence, self-esteem and motivation.

My Experience

I have taught in secondary schools in the UK (Swanlea school in Whitechapel) and abroad. I also worked as a private tutor KS1, 2 and 3 pupils, as well as foreign languages to all ages.
In the last ten years, I have taught children of all ages and helped them improve in Maths, English and piano/music theory.

My Qualifications

Sonia: Degree - Maitrise NARIC comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard
Counselling Level 2 - 2004
IELTS 2003
JJ: Eight GCSEs at grade 9 (A**), two GCSEs at grade 8 (A*) and two GCSEs at grade 7 (A).

I pre arranged for my daughter to have English and maths tuition and was told that Saturdays was the only day available and having taken my 5 year old daughter on Saturday as agreed and making the payment I was later messaged to state that the agreed hours were no longer suitable. I'm quite disappointed as I have wasted valuable time and money and am back to square one.

Response by Sonia_M on 11/06/2017:

Dear customer,

I am sorry that this is how you feel about what happened. I can assure you that if you have explained before hand that you are not flexible, I would not have booked you in. The 2pm slot you were given was intended for initial assessment but further discussion was required to establish our availabilities. I have since offered you a 10 am starting time on Saturday because that is the only realistic time for us to tutor your daughter but you declined.

Regarding the fee you paid, even though we charge £15 per hour for primary level, regardless on whether it is a lesson or an initial contact, your daughter received a whole hour and a half of tuition. She was not only tested but also tutored in maths and English.

Please let me know if I could be of any more help.

All the best,

My kids like a lot to do the lessons with Joanna and Vicky. They learn lots of things , they are more confident at school, made significant progress . Im very happy like a parent with the services of Sophia15.

My daughter does piano and English with Sonia's daughters, very pleased with the progress she made. My son has one hour to catch up on English and making a good progress too. He is getting more confident for his upcoming sats. Definitely recommend.

Sonia has been tutoring my daughter (now in Y9) in French for about a year. Prior to tutoring I think daughter would have been heading to just about manage to pass GCSE French. Now I'm much more confident that she'll not just pass but pass with an excellent grade. Sonia is very thorough and an excellent teacher. Daughter is very happy that she now finds school French lessons are no longer difficult.
