my name is Lea,
I am an Ofsted registered Childminder based in Addlestone.
I hold an enhanced DBS check(formerly CRB) that is updated yearly, I am trained in paediatric first aid which is regularly updated. You can confirm my details on Surrey Childcare finder.
I have a very relaxed home I share with 2 cats and a grown up daughter.
I feel it is a privilege to do my job, building a relationship with each unique child, helping them to develop and reach their full potential is extremely rewarding.
I live in the same road as Sayes Court School & Nursery, with a local park, library and soft play nearby.
A few examples of our frequent outings include - Toddler groups, Animal sanctuary's, Library & Rhyme time, Soft play, Craft groups, Feeding ducks and Visiting parks.
We also take trips further afield to - Bocketts farm, Godstone farm, Wisley Gardens, Hampton Court, Windsor Castle,Discovery centre Bracknell and much more
We are currently enrolled on a course of weekly Forest School sessions, which is extremely popular with the children.
At our setting the children enjoy a wide range of Toys, Books and Activities such as Cooking, Painting, Drawing, Play doh, Crafts, Games, Puzzles, to name a few
I have a garden where the children enjoy Sand and Water play, Mud Kitchen, Planting & growing area and much more.
I feel it is important to offer the children a wide variety of fun and stimulating activities, resources and experiences that provide good learning opportunities and lots of fun, I make sure they get fresh air and exercise daily, but recognise occasionally there are days the children may need to take things a little easier and have a quieter day.
For all pre school children I work within the EYFS framework(Early years foundation stage)
I provide a daily diary to keep parents informed of their child's eating, sleep and toilet routines, activities & achievement's including photos. I work closely with parents to ensure all children's needs are met.
Being the eldest of a large family I have grown up with younger siblings and cousins, and raised my
(now grown up) daughter.
I have a long and varied experience of working with children, including working as a trained family support worker for the 'Homestart' organisation.
I also held various voluntary positions such as School reading assistant, Brownie Guide leader, Church Sunday School helper.
My experience has involved working with Twins, Children with Speech & Language delay, Behavioural challenges, Diagnosed food allergies/intolerance, Food aversion.

Lea looked after my 2 children since they were 1 & 3 and has been nothing short of wonderful. Even though my children started with her during the beginning of the pandemic, they settled so quickly because of her kind nature & the variety of activities she used to keep them busy.
Lea regularly took them on a variety of day trips which gave my children so much variety & experience. Her activities at home were always so well thought through too.
I felt that Lea cared for my children as if they were her own. They were always so happy to be dropped off in the morning’s, and that is testament to the environment that Lea created.
Response by Lea M on 15/08/2021:
Thank you for such kind words.
It has been my absolute pleasure to care for such delightful children, we will all miss them so much.
I needed ad hoc childcare and Lea was kind enough to message and arrange a show around. It was my first time leaving my son with a childminder.
She explained the procedure and paperwork well which put my mind to rest. On the day she was very kind to give me updates throughout the day and also sent pictures of our little boy in the park.
He follows a routine now and she followed the routine as advised and kept a record of the day for us to go through.
When we returned our son seemed happy and well taken care off. Lea is very nice and I was confident that my little one was in good hands. Thank you Lea for your help.
I definitely recommend Lea and would use the services again in future.
Lea takes care of my 32 months old twice a week. When I first met Lea I knew I wanted her to look after my DD and I’m so glad we’ve decided to go with her. My DD wakes up every morning asking to go to Lea’s.
Lea is caring, plan activities based on children’s interest, they go to play groups, libraries, farms, etc. Lea prepares lovely meals and is getting my DD to try new food without a fuss (what else can I ask for).
We are working parents so we don’t get to do drop offs and pick ups, Lea keeps a diary on the children and they bring it home with them where we get to know every single thing they’ve been up to, she also send us photos and videos of activities and outings which makes me smile getting to know my DD is having a great time whilst in Lea’s care.
Thank you so much Lea for everything you do.
You are outstanding to us.
You are a God send :)
