My Experience

In 2015 I spend most of the year working as an au pair for 2 children aged 1 and 3 in Auckland, New Zealand. It was a fantastic experience and I loved being part of the family. My duties included dressing the children and getting them ready for the day, taking them to what activities we had on that day, making sure I had everything I needed if we were away from the house for the day. Keeping their sleep schedule on track and then making them dinner and bathing them before their parents came home. I loved working side by side with the parents to make sure we were doing everything we could for the children.

For most of 2016 I worked as a childminder's assistant, looking after up to 6 children a day. It was a great experience to work with children of different ages. We did various activities with the children including messy play and music, also helping them start their journey to nursery or school.

From Sept 2016 - June 2017 I worked as a full time nanny, looking after 2 year old twins for 3 days and a 1 year old for the other two days. From June 2017 - Sept 2017 I worked with 6 different families doing different days, ages ranging from 6 months to 7 years. I then decided to travel for a few months, I went straight back to working, and since then have had 2 families in the week, one for 3 days and another for 2 days, the 3 days family I’ve been with for over 2 years looking after their twins, and have had 3 different families in that time - two of them being more twins! I absolutely love being a nanny and enjoy going to groups and doing day trips with the children. Similar to when I worked as an au pair, I make sure the children keep to their sleep schedule, get them dressed, prepare meals for them and make sure they are happy and having fun!

I'm the oldest of several cousins and family members so have grown up babysitting from a young age, all I've ever wanted to do was work with children and working with children on a daily basis for the last 3 years has cemented that for me. I use to regularly volunteer at a local primary school, this was great to work with lots of different ages and I tailored my degree wherever possible to make it so I was inter grating my love of children within my education.

My Availability

Currently on maternity leave until October 2024, then I’ll be looking for 2 days and to bring along my then 9/10 month old so a family with a similar age child would be great!

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Nannying from £13.00 per hour (gross)
