About Me
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2008. I love my job and it is my commitment to provide quality "home from home" care for each child I look after. I feel it’s such a privilege when parents choose me to share in their child’s early years development.
I am enthusiastic, approachable, caring and I provide a setting where children have fun and build friendships whilst learning. We have a 18 year old daughter & one cocker spaniel. My home has a lovely spacious playroom and garden that we spend lots of time in doing varied fun activities.
I take children to local playgroups, 2 nice parks a couple of minutes walk from my home & local library storytimes each week. Trips to museums & parks a bit further afield on the bus. I have a rich variety of toys & resources to interest & stimulate pre-school children either through 'free play' or more structured 'adult led' activities where I will have a specific learning goal in mind to help them with their next steps in learning, for example starting to mark make during craft or building confidence in climbing at the playground.
At my last Ofsted inspection in summer 2018 i was graded ‘OUTSTANDING' in all areas.
My Experience
16 years childminding, experience as a voluntary classroom assistant whilst at university, and a mum to one daughter.

I have a combined degree in Psychology, Sociology & English

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My Daily Fee's are £45 full day (9 hours max) between 8-5pm (includes breakfast, groups)
All year round care. (Take around 5/6 weeks unpaid holiday)
*Can also offer government funded 15/30 FREE HOURS for 2, 3 & 4 year olds * (to eligible families)

Abi has looked after my little girl full-time from age 7 months for a year now and she has cared for my three-year-old son for two days a week for the same period of time. I chose Abi because I felt she had a natural warmth and affinity with children and I wasn't wrong. I have been impressed by Abi repeatedly throughout the time she has cared for my children and I trust her implicitly. For me, Abi has meant that I can go to work and have peace of mind all day long that my children are in the best place possible. She offers a range of stimulating and exciting activities, provides good quality lunches and both my children are always happy to go to her. I find Abi to be professional, personable and very understanding. She ensures I know what my children have been doing throughout the day by a quick chat at pick-up, a daily diary, a wonderful blog and sometimes even emails me a picture of the children engaging in activities during the day. If you are looking for a child-minder, I highly recommend that you consider Abi first. You will be pleased that you did.

My son Dylan has been with Abi for over a year now. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found her. She’s fantastic with Dylan, and I trust her implicitly. She shows genuine affection for Dylan, as he does for her.
Dylan takes part in a wide range of regularly activities with Abi, including playgroup visits, park walks and softplay outings. She also encourages learning play with a variety toys, sensory equipment and artwork tools. He always engaged and stimulated when I arrive to pick him up (and often doesn’t want to go home!).
We’re kept updated on Dylan’s progress with a quick chat on pick up, a daily diary and on-going learning journal which tracks his progress against key development steps. Abi also has an online journal of pictures, and sends us the occasional funny/cute pic on email during the day.
She provides good quality food and drink for lunch too.
I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Abi!

Overall
I couldn't recommend Abi high enough, she has looked after my little girl since returning to work after mat leave, Ellie is now 3 and loved every minute in Abi's care. Dropping Ellie off and seeing her toddle off and play was very reassuring. Ellie enjoyed the many outings to the park, soft play centre, playgroups, swimming and many more activities. Abi's blog was a fantastic with pictures of what Ellie had been up to on a daily basis along with the diary. I would definitely recommend Abi to anyone looking for childcare.
