The Rainbow Project is a specialist, supportive environment for children on the autism spectrum or who have communication difficulties, between the ages of two and five. I am Ofsted registered and provide a therapeutic early intervention childminding service, where each child will receive one-to-one support.
I have a wide range of experience with individuals on the autism spectrum of all ages, who I have met and supported over several years. I have experience in early intervention, in autism-specific schools and resource provisions, and within children’s own homes. My approach is child-centred and tailored and encompasses many different methods to encourage communication. I have experience from the country’s only early intervention pre-school, which has furthered my ambitions to help local families in a similar way.
I am currently undergoing a Master's in autism with the University of Birmingham. I have attended TEACCH and Makaton courses; I use PECS and other visuals, and intensive interaction. I have attended several conferences and read, and continue to read, extensively.
Children enrolled in The Rainbow Project will attend sessions of between two and three hours, on at least a weekly basis. Timing of these is negotiable.
The chart below illustrates the hours I am registered to provide childcare for. Please contact me for specific availability.
