My name is Lucy Mackie and I would like to welcome you and your family to my childminding setting.
I live with my husband, James and our two daughters, Charlotte and Isabelle.
My main objectives as a childminder are to provide a happy, nurturing, safe and stimulating environment for the children to learn and progress in, and to promote positive behaviours and attitudes towards others.
I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association and am committed to giving small children the opportunity to spend time in the great outdoors on a regular basis. Forest Childcare can help to:
• Teach children to appreciate trees, fields, ponds and woods by spending time in the natural environment
• Improve emotional and physical wellbeing of children and the adults who look after them
• Improve children’s concentration, perseverance, cooperation and motivation skills
• Help children to stay fit and counter obesity because children move around naturally outdoors while they play
• Let off steam
• Provide opportunities for developing harmonious relationships with others, through negotiation, taking turns and cooperation
• Improve physical skills gained from opportunities to run and balance
• Build knowledge and understanding of the world
• Provide rich opportunities for imagination, inventiveness and resourcefulness
My previous employment history has been largely legal based having worked in Solicitors for over 12 years; however, I have always been surrounded by children as my mum has been a successful childminder since I was an attached 1 year old and I have therefore grown up in a home-based childcare environment. I have many years’ experience working alongside my mum and have experience as a parent myself. I have been registered with Ofsted since October 2017.
I am currently working towards NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) which I am due to complete in July 2020.

My daughter has been looked after by Lucy since she was 8 months old and adores her and her family. I can’t imagine leaving her with anyone else, if she ever closes we will be distraught! Lucy provides lots of activities and outings and I’m often surprised with new things my daughter has learnt. I highly recommend Lucy’s Lambs.
So happy with the childcare provided with Lucy lambs! My daughter always runs in and always leaves
Smiling and talking about how much fun she had. Always comfortable leaving her with Lucy as I know she is in the best hands. Would recommend Lucy to anyone who is seeking childcare.
We have used Lucy lambs for almost 5 years now. From baby right the way through to school holiday cover.
Couldn’t recommend enough for a home from home setting !
