About Me
Hi, I’m Pippa and I have been graded Outstanding in my last 2 OFSTED inspections. I’m a registered childminder in the London borough of SOUTHWARK, since June 2010.
I have had 3 inspections, my grading inspection for which I recieved a "Good" (Nov 2010)
a “Outstanding”
(May 2016)
& I retained my "Outstanding" grade at last inspection (March 2020)
I am married and we have 2 boys born in 2003 and 2007.
We also have a dog (collie/cocker X ) and a small cat
My Experience
I have cared for other peoples children through out my life babysitting & nannying on and off for many years, before becoming registered in childcare.
I am mum to 2 and godmother to 6, all of various ages.
Since becoming a minder, I have had the pleasure to work with lots of lovely families & am still in contact with many of them. I am happy to currently care for 2 children full time (3 days) previously, I’ve cared for several families where I’ve started with eldest sibling then youngest has taken the space after they move to nursery/reception I’ve also worked with several individual children on ad-hoc care basis (12mth-8yrs)

Throughout my childminding career, I have partaken in all the mandatory training as well as many other courses to keep myself up to date with early years practices inc SEND, behaviour, holistic learning and the 2 year progress check
I am Currently registered for Tax free childcare only, not funded places
My Qualifications
I have a current CRB, as do my mother and my husband who are registered as my assistants, my eldest son also has a DBS.
I hold a current paediatric first aid certificate and training in Epi pen administration
I have completed "safeguarding" courses and intended to attend a few more courses throughout the last year, which has not been possible but I’ve done a few online. I've have a level 3 diploma in child care 0-19years
I'm fully insured and a member of PACEY
My Availability
Tuesday: No vacancies 8-5pm
Wednesday: No vacancies 8-5pm
Thursday: No vacancies 8-5pm
I have NO childminding vacancies from Jan 2024
I am able to offer ad-hoc care for SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ONLY with advance notice
I try to keep my ratios low to offer a more nuturing care for my mindees, although I make sure we attend a group setting (when possible) or meet with likeminded childminders every day, to ensure social interaction with other children and adults
I do a lot of learning with children using nature and what we see throughout our day & am currently taking part in the National Literacy programme “Early word talkers at 2”

My Fees
- Childminding from £12.00 per hour
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
I charge 12.00 per hour for anything under 5 hours inc settling in sessions
Afternoon tea & snacks are provided for this price
I charge £85 per day full contract (8am-5pm ) this inc snacks, lunch & tea
I can also cover half terms on short notice if the availability is there.
I am not available Mondays & fridays
Ad-hoc/holiday contract are available:
A whole day is £90 per day 8am - 5pm during holidays
This will also include meals

Pippa has provided wonderful care for my son Jules, starting when he was just 11 month old. She was the first person to look after him outside the family unit and she exceeded my expectations (while quickly calmed down my anxieties!): she is very warm and caring and Jules absolutely loved her from the start. She provided the nurturing environment he needed to grow and develop, for example when successfully encouraging to crawl. She also gave him many opportunities to socialise with other children, and overall to have lots of fun times and giggles :-). She's been our lucky star.

It’s been a pleasure to be part of jules learning journey
Pippa is a hugely professional, kind and loving childminder. She has loads of experience and was so reassuringly confident about how to handle every little stage our toddler was going through. Our daughter still gets really excited when we bump into Pippa on the street and made great friends with all the other kids there. We count ourselves very lucky to have found her !

Very glad to still be a part of the girls lives
Pippa has looked after our 2 year old son for the last year and a half, and we recommend her extremely highly! We feel really lucky that we found Pippa - she provides an exceptionally nurturing, fun, educational, varied, sociable & stimulating environment for the children that she looks after. The combination of small-scale individualised care with regular outings (every day) and consistent socialising with other childminder groups was a huge appeal from the start, and continued to be ideal for our child. Thank you so much, Pippa!

Reubs is definitely a lad who’ll always own a piece of my heart
Pippa has looked after both our girls from from under 1 year old to beginning school. We wanted a smaller, more homely setting, rather than a nursery and she is exactly what we required. She is an excellent childminder and has been invaluable to us for the last 5 years. She provides a warm loving home which our children have always felt comfortable to attend. She takes the children out every day to play groups, parks, museums and galleries. She makes sure they learn numbers and letters and encourages them to develop their interests. They have loved growing up with her and love her entire family too. I think she’s only had one day unwell in the five years and is very reliable. We will very much miss her and would recommend her to anyone who is looking for an excellent childminder.

Pippa is an absolutely amazing childminder - I can't recommend her highly enough! She looked after our little boy Dylan from aged 10 months to 2.5 years until we moved away, otherwise he'd still be there (saddest part about our move)! Her home is so welcoming and Dylan was made to feel part of the family and so he settled in so quickly and we had no worries about leaving him. We loved how Pippa took him to so many clubs and days out with other children in her care meaning he really learned to socialise from a young age. We keep trying to convince her to move nearby, that's how great she is!
