Hi my name is Judith Marjeram and I am an Ofsted registered 'Good' early year’s practitioner with a passion to work with children, highly efficient and a motivated individual with a responsible and caring attitude.
Originally from New Zealand, I live with my partner Neil and our two daughters, Charlotte (7) and Cerys (4) in a spacious non-smoking 3 bedroom house with a reasonable sized garden. I am very trustworthy, flexible and reliable. Since having Charlotte and Cerys, I have found I love being around children and helping them to grow, develop and enjoy life. Culture is very important to me as I believe that every child should know where they come from. I love doing Arts and Crafts and can turn my hand at pretty much any subject from knitting to painting to mosaics. Being from New Zealand means that I was pretty much brought up doing most outdoor activities and as such it is important to me for Charlotte and Cerys to have these experiences as well as any other children I care for.
When your child enters my setting they will be involved in a number of activities such as arts and crafts, baking, messy play, outdoor play in our garden which has a wendy house, sandpit, slides, ride on truck and I am currently in the progress of establishing a childs planting area where they can grow their own flowers/vegetables etc. We will also make visits to various play groups where they can socialise with other children, library rhyme time/singing sessions, going to parks whilst also being able to relax and have fun in a home away from home environment whilst feeling welcomed, safe and above all happy.
For children in the Early Years age group I will follow the EYFS and observe and track their development as is a requirement of an Ofsted Registered Childminder.
I have had experience volunteering once a week with a registered childminder and I also help run the weekly stay and play session at Tunstall Children’s Centre. This has helped me to gain knowledge and understanding of dealing with children of different ages and aiding in their individual development. I am also a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY). References are available on request from other parents whose children I have looked after.
I have done all necessary training to become a childminder and am Ofsted registered with a current Ofsted rating of 'Good'.
