Couldn't ask for a better setting!

Reviewed

Louie joined the childcare setting with Chris and Jo when he was 7 months old. Being first time parents we wanted to be sure that we had chosen the right place for Louie to go during work hours and that the setting gave us confidence in this from the get go, as we wanted it to be a place he would stay until he went to Pre school. I spoke to Chris and Jo about some introductory hours and a placement for Louie 3 days a week. We were asked a lot questions regarding Louie and where he was at with his development and what he was able to do. I was asked questions about this sleep pattern the types of food he enjoyed and completed forms about his development and personality which has been ongoing throughout . This gave us great confidence as it was nice to be involved with knowing where Louie would be aiming for at certain ages and what milestones he would likely to be hitting etc. We had a tour of the setting and surroundings Louie would be in whilst in Chris and Jo’s care. Louie then started to go one day a week for a few hours to test the waters for us. We were immediately very happy with the setting

During his first weeks with Jo and Chris we were sent home regular reports on Louie. His toilet habits, nappies changed and what he had done and ate during his stay on that particular day. We would always look forward to reading these when he was home to get a feel on what sorts of things Louie had been doing whilst away from us. Chris and Jo have always been great with communicating with us. Whether it be pictures of Louie during the day via watts app or just a quick message to let me know he is having a nice day and he is ok. I think as a parent its nice to receive these updates whilst away from your child. We have always had good discussions on Louie and how he is progressing and tips and pointers in to things we can also do at home to help with his development. I particularly like the pictures we receive of Louie during messy play. Pumpkin carving being my favourite this year and Louie was so proud to bring his pumpkin home to us. I have collected and saved all his pictures that Jo and Chris have helped Louie to make and we have his hand and footprint calendar up on our wall. Valentines day, birthdays Christmas he brings home beautiful hand made cards, pictures and cookies he has made it really does make us smile.

I like to know Louie is eating well and regularly discuss with Jo and Chris about his eating habits and what he’s had for lunch. I can always be assured that he is eating lots of lovely nutritional food and snacks and yummy home made meals. Louie has a big appetite and loves his fruit which I know he gets provided 3 meals a day with Chris and Jo and fruity snacks.

Chris and Jo asked me what Louie likes to read at home to see if we could get the same few books to try with him. This helped with him learning and knowing the story’s.

We are very amazed with how much Louie learns from the curriculum with Jo and Chris and we couldn’t be more prouder as parents for his achievements whilst in there care. He can sing his ABCs, Count to ten, put sentences together and sing a large number of nursery rhymes. We couldn’t be more thankful to Chris and Jo and how much they have learnt Louie.
