I have a lovely, all-inclusive, highly professional childminding setting for new babies and toddlers, who are not quite ready for the big step to nursery! Please scroll down for more details and to see my parents reviews.
I am a Ofsted registered childminder offering a high quality, all-inclusive, warm, nurturing setting for babies and toddlers. Working closely with parents, my setting is ideal for new babies, toddlers who are not quite ready for the big step to a nursery routine or a larger busier setting, and who may require flexible and dedicated home comforts whilst still thriving, learning and developing each day.
SAFE AND WARM ENVIRONMENT..."The childminder creates a very loving and secure home. Children have exceptionally close bonds with her and she is mindful of their changing needs, to continuously support their emotional development" (OFSTED Inspection report, January 2019).
Children at my setting are cared for in a modern, clean and comfortable environment, with lots of resources/toys and activities to keep them busy, learning and ultimately thriving. I believe that a child busy playing is a child busy learning.....with a guiding hand from myself of course.
LOTS OF OUTDOOR PLAY AND ADVENTURES....
We have a lovely sized, secure garden with lots of outdoor resources to keep children active, moving around as well as our investigation resources such as a mini beasts house and bird watching area. We also do a spot of gardening - sunflowers are a firm favourite! We often leave the setting (daily most weeks) to go out further afield to the local nature reserve as well as attending local activity classes to further enrich their understanding of the world that they live in.
As a childminder I follow the national early years curriculum (EYFS 2017) and complete regular, online, learning records for parents to track and engage with their child's learning and development journey during these precious first years. This is also an excellent transition record to pass on to nursery or pre-school when your child moves on.
HEALTHY MEALS AND SNACKS....
Children at my setting enjoy high quality, healthy home cooked meals and snacks throughout the day - adjusted for those little ones who are weaning or are new to solids. A set menu is sent out to parents weekly.
I'M A MUMMY MYSELF ....
I am a parent myself and so I do understand how important the right childcare choice is for parents. I've built my setting based on my own experiences of searching and using childcare for my own child, when I returned back from maternity leave. I've transferred my own learning and experiences to offer very high quality childcare principles, including offering the little extra's that make a child's day just that little more comfortable so that parents can relax knowing that their child is in a safe, happy and fun environment while they are at work.
FEES (WHAT'S INCLUDED)
My fees are based on an all-inclusive package and paid by the session and not by the hour. Therefore all consumables and activities are part of the fee. You won't have to worry about packing nappies, creams, milk, sippy cups or food each day as I'll have it all covered. Even car seats and prams for our outdoor trips and activities are included in the fee!
We are close to Redhill and Merstham train stations. Redhill has both City Thames Link and Southern train services going into London and Bedford as well as Brighton, Gatwick, Tonbridge and Three Bridges. We're also close to the M25, A23 and A217 if commuting by car.

Clare has been looking after our daughter, Lily, since she was 13 months old and the care has been exceptional. We were really worried about Lily settling in and feeling secure and we were so pleased that in no time at all she seemed to be part of the group and so well liked by Clare and the other little ones in her care. Lily loves to go in the mornings and gets very excited when we drop her off and often wants to stay when we collect her!
Clare is very flexible and adaptable and has been able to offer us bespoke care to meet our needs which has been amazing. We use cloth nappies and Clare has been happy to use these in her care. She sends us out a menu each week which is very detailed and includes allergens. She has taken on board all of the children's likes and dislikes when making the menu so it feels very personal which is just amazing. Clare has also been accommodating if we don't want Lily to have certain things just yet. The menu always looks amazing and we often wish we were going for lunch too! Lily often has seconds and thirds of her dinner!
Lily goes on various outings such as to music and art classes weekly as well as to the local nature reserve and even Godstone Farm on occasion.
Clare's communication with us is great and we always feel like we know what is going on. She uses an online journal which documents various activities so we can see what Lily is getting up to which is just lovely!
We feel so lucky to have found Clare and so feel thrilled that Lily is treated as a member of their family. I would highly recommend Clare and her setting.
Clare has looked after our son for 4 days a week since January 2018, when he was 10 months old.
He settled in very quickly and gets very excited when he arrives at the door and is greeted by Clare and her daughter. This has been the same, even throughout an especially clingy phase. He gets to experience a range of activities including baby/toddler classes, art work/messy play and lots of time outdoors, both in the garden and further afield.
We receive a weekly menu which always offers lots of variety and seems to go down very well.
In addition, apart from his clothing, everything else is provided at the setting which makes it much quicker to sort out a bag for him in the morning.
During handover Clare lets us know what he has got up to. We also have access to an online learning journal which is regularly updated with photos and information about some of the activities he has enjoyed.
The setting is very personal and Clare is happy to adapt to meet our son's needs and follow what we do at home.
We are very happy with our choice!
LIttle Owlets looks after my 18month old for 3 afternoons a week. He struggled with the larger setting of a nursery and when we found this lovely place, it was like home from home, we couldn't wait to start. He is given quality food, time and is learning every day with the other lovely children. He is now competent with feeding himself, thanks to Claire's one on one attention and patience with him at meal times, something that wouldn't happen in a nursery. My son now walks in, waves me off and couldn't be happier.
The updated learning journal is also a great opportunity to see pictures of my son learning and developing. I couldn'tbe happier with the service.
I have been extremely happy with the care Lottie has received, and the speed with which Lottie has settled into Clare's care. Clare's home is always welcoming, clean and well organised, Lottie has great fun playing with all the toys available and with Clare's daughter. Lottie smiles as she approaches the door, is keen to press the door bell and always has her arms open for a cuddle.
Beyond all this though, it is Clare warmth, her friendly and practical nature that help us to settle her to care for Lottie. As a new childminder Clare is keen to offer a bespoke service to fit a families needs and to provide a home from home. She has certainly achieved this for us, with a flexibility allowing us to have continuity for Lottie when family members who do our additional childcare have been on holiday.
She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor adventures, particularly at the local nature park. Lottie always has a section of the morning outside, on a walk or at an activity class. Clare meticulously lets us know the plan for the session via email but is also pragmatic and I afraid to make changes when needed. Recently in very hot weather and again when Lottie was teething.
Clare provides a healthy and balance menu of main meals and snacks, communicating via email the menu for the week and also feeding back at hand over how Lottie has eaten. Clare was thorough and attentive in find out your and Lottie's preference as she weaned.
Handover with Clare helps me to feel involved with Lottie's care and to plan the remained of our day according and means that I can talk to her about her mornings activities. This is in additions to the work Clare completes in-line with the early years guidelines both independently and through activities with Lottie. This is shared timely with us and will be a lovely record of their journey together.
All in all I am thoroughly happy with the level of care Lottie receives and I’m certain that being in such a positive and happy environment is helping her to develop.
I would absolutely recommend Clare as a excellent and reliable childminder.
