Hi,
I'm a 35 year old female living in central Newbury. I am an enthusiastic, energetic individual who loves working with children. I am passionate about child-centred learning, as well as using the outdoors as a learning environment. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, meditation, walking, travel, creative wellbeing and cooking.
My Experience
I have over ten years of teaching experience and I have worked in a variety of primary schools, as well as working as an online tutor, tutoring children of a variety of ages who were from China and Korea. I was responsible for teaching them reading and writing, with the focus on them improving their acquisition of the English language. I have experience of working with children with special educational needs and children who exhibit challenging behaviour. I have done safeguarding training and am on the DBS update service. I have also worked as a teaching assistant and I was a volunteer for three years as a Cub Scout leader. This involved lots of outdoor learning, as well as planning and leading on a camp, where lots of the children stayed away from home for the first time. In addition to this, I have planned and led on many extra-curricular trips and activities, including residential activity camps. I have also worked at multi-activity summer camps with children from the ages of 5-16.
My Qualifications
I have a post graduate degree in education, and a Masters in Psychology. I also have up-to-date safeguarding training.
My Availability
I am currently available Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I am also available in the May half term holiday and the summer holiday.
