Hi my name is Suzanne, I'm 62 years old and a non smoker, My 26 year old daughter Lucy visits when on semester from University, he is also CRB checked. I live in a quiet area and my back garden backs onto a field, there is a wooded play area across the road from me shaded under trees, very pretty with lots of acti ies for children of all ages. My back garden is securly enclosed with a large range of outside play equipment. Plenty of places to explore and hide, gardening activities too.
I have been childminding since 2002 when I received my registration certificate and I currently live in Market Rasen.
I attend local mother & toddler groups during the week which helps the children in my care socially, making friends and interacting with adults and is a significant part of a child's development.
I supply and encourage the use of a large range of equipment and activities in my home, I offer a well equipped playroom and conservatory to cater for ages from babies to 10 years old. Activities, board games/puzzles/arts & crafts/educational books and equipment are easily accessible to all ages of children. Older children love to relax in my lounge, homework or just to sit quietly.
I take the children out every day for walks/trips either to the local parks, the seafront, library or toddler/playgroups which I fit in with nursery and school drop off & pick-ups to local schools. The children really enjoy the experience during our outings, we talk all the time pointing out different shapes, colours and different kinds; cars, buses, animals and its a fun way to learn about the world and who and what makes it so different.
We practice road safety and why being safe is so important whilst we are out and about.
My two sons are adults now and my life is devoted to childminding, I have no ties or restrictions which helps maintain flexibility within my work and uninterrupted caring for the children which I love and take very seriously.
My eldest son almost died at 9 weeks old of Pylorus Stenosuss and was later diagnosed with epilepsy and asthma at the age of 12. I have cared for many children with Epilepsy, Autism, Asperger's, Asthma, Severe food allergies/intolerance's, Eczema and emotional issues.
I have the privilege of caring for babies watching them grow and develop and following every step and milestone along with their parents which I find both amazing and incredibly rewarding .
I love caring for all ages from babies to teenagers and enjoy being a part of children's developmental stages. I have years of experience with the varying of ages of children and how they process and grow through their individual development.
I cater to School drop and pick ups 'wrap around care', supervising homework and projects, studies are something I enjoy being involved with, encouraging children is rewarding for me.
I am a qualified chef and love cooking meals with the children, encouraging them to experience different tastes and textures from a diversity of cultures and encourage safety in the kitchen. Healthy eating is important to me and the diet that I offer the children is fresh healthy snacks and meals. Drinks are available throughout the day, the children have their own water bottles which I keep topped up and in easy reach for them. I also offer milk/fresh fruit juice and fresh milk shakes/smoothies.
The children rest after lunch for an hour, mornings are busy and if one of the children isn't tired I read stories quietly to them or we play with puzzles or draw or watch an appropriate dvd.
I have several written references from previous parents. These are available on my profile and in paper form to view on request during visits along with Ofsted registration details, CRB's and insurance policies.

Suzanne has been my daughters’ child minder for the past 3 and a half years and has been an absolute God send to our family!
With regards to Suzanne’s child minding, I cannot praise her enough. Suzanne is kind, attentive, nurturing whilst providing the children within her care a safe environment where they can learn, develop and grow at their own pace.
Suzanne constantly has an array of activities planned on a daily basis for the children, many of which result in things that the children take home to show us parents. I’ve kept everything and been amazed at the variety of crafts that Daisy has brought home.
Discipline is never a problem while my daughter is with Suzanne; she is firm but fair and doesn’t take any nonsense from any of the children (this goes for the parents as well!). There is zero tolerance when it comes to violence and telling fibs which is very reassuring and I love how my daughter has developed since being in Suzanne’s care.
Suzanne has always provided a healthy, well balanced diet for the children and ensures that they receive plenty of exercise as well; making sure that every aspect of the children’s’ well-being was taken care of. My daughter still enjoys going to the parks that Suzanne would take her and the other children too.
I should point out that whilst out with Suzanne, I had no concerns regarding my daughters’ safety. Suzanne is one of the most conscientious people I have ever come across, never taking her eyes off the children and constantly risk assessing wherever she is with them.
Losing Suzanne has been very hard for me and my daughter; there is no one else I would rather leave her with. Suzanne has become so important to us and really is now a member of our family. She’s loving, nurturing and so kind and generous. Every child deserves the care she provides.
Suzanne has been looking after my son Isaac for the past 8 months. As he needed to be placed with someone for long days it was important that he was cared for by someone who could offer a homely environment and cater for his needs. Suzanne has been an absolute star. She looks after him brilliantly and Isaac thoroughly enjoys his days at Suzanne's. Suzanne offers the children the choice on what they want to do rather than a strict regime which the children may not necessarily want to be involved in. This has definitely aided him as he can sometimes be difficult and can lack in confidence. When Suzanne announced she would be relocating I was devastated as I genuinely feel no one can replace her. I would highly recommend Suzanne. She is very flexible and has never let me down. We wish her well in the future. Thank you for everything Suzanne. You have made a real difference not just to Isaac's life but to mine too :-)
My daughter lyla has been with Suzanne for 10 months since she was 9 months old. I met a couple childminders before Suzanne but wasn't very impressed. As soon as I met Suzanne I knew that she was the perfect person to care for my rather lively daughter.
Suzanne is calm, kind and very loving. She cares for lyla with such love and affection as she does all the children in her care, She presents a homely environment where the children have a play room full of toys. Lyla especially likes the chalkboard on the wall, even if she does like writing on Suzanne's wall even more. But Suzanne doesn't mind, in fact, it makes her smile. Suzanne also does messy play with the children, be it painting, sticking, or play dough lyla sure has fun! Suzanne works with the EYFS so the children are doing different activities each day. The children aren't just restricted to the playroom, they have full run of the ground floor which is safe and secure.
Suzanne likes to take the children to play groups so that they can develop their interaction with other children. She also takes them to local parks almost on a daily basis. Lyla enjoys picking flowers (grass) and presenting them to Suzanne.
After a busy morning which includes breakfast and snack, Suzanne gives the children a home cooked meal. Suzanne used to be a chef, so as you can imagine, the meals, such as beef casserole and roast lamb, are healthy and very tasty. Suzanne has introduced lyla to many healthy foods such as peppers, radishes, carrots, strawberries and kiwi.
Suzanne provides a learning journal each day so we know exactly what lyla has eaten and drank, how long she has slept, her nappy changes as well as all the mischief she has got up to : )
Suzanne has been a godsend to us. I can go to work safe in the knowledge that lyla is being cared for by a wonderful, caring, motherly woman whom I trust immensely. I cannot recommend Suzanne highly enough!
